Did anyone watch this "A Berry Royal Christmas" last night? I thought it was delightful. Great to learn more about the charity work William and Kate do, and they are such a happy couple, clearly have a lot of fun together and are good sports (and don't need to be clutching hold of each other to prove anything!)

Kate seems fine face-to-face but still seems a bit shy about giving speeches and I find that rather endearing.

I like to see couples holding hands. What’s so awful about that?
Is it equally awful to see a woman taking her husband’s arm?

I would rather be one of the couples above than those I see in restaurants looking bored with nothing to say to each other.

Re handholding. It was Alan Bennett who said that if you see an elderly couple holding hands, you wonder which one has dementia.
Sad, as so often true.

Gosh ,why all the snide comments re Meghan & Harry as far as I know they weren't included in the programme.

The RF are like a soap opera these days, they used to at least pretend to be classy - Now I find I'm often shocked when hearing the latest news about this entitled family. I feel sorry for megan, though.

Sometimes I do hang on to DH.
It is from necessity.

ananimous this Mary is Queen of Cakes
I hope so anyway, I followed her recipe for Christmas cake.

I enjoyed the programme and it was good to see how charity workers and those in need responded to William and Catherine genuine concern.

No offence to hand holders here, but I find hand gripping in public irritating. Such as politicians going to the polls with their partners, clutching hands.

annep1 Tue 17-Dec-19 22:01:28

Personally I find the Sussexes' protection of each other endearing........ and the hand-holding quite sweet.
Yes, if they were teenagers, not mature adults.
twisted individual rude and hurtful.
Too much of this on GN recently.

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 22:00:08

I have never, ever said i loathe anyone. Stop dramatising inkcog.

inkcog Tue 17-Dec-19 21:55:30

well how can somebody loathe Diana, Meghan, Corbyn without knowing them?

Shizam Tue 17-Dec-19 21:28:01

I did watch it and thought it was a perfectly sweet programme. They seem a genuinely lovely couple. Who are trying to help, at least a bit. William talking about his mother moved me.

Grandmama Tue 17-Dec-19 21:04:32

Why do so many posts turn nasty and spiteful. A recent post (a first one I think) from a gran who wanted advice about her grandson and his pregnant girlfriend turned quite vile. Many posters have strong views but they can be expressed without rudeness.

Inkcog - are you a new poster? None of Annie's posts have ever made me think she is a twisted individual.

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 19:43:16

Post not poster

Yawn

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 18:48:46

GrumpyGran William didn’t tell us how the press damages him and Kate didn’t complain that no one asked her if she
was OK, they were there for their charities and this is what they spoke of.

Harris27 Tue 17-Dec-19 18:34:32

Haven’t watched it as yet look forward to it.

Grumpygran12 Tue 17-Dec-19 18:33:14

So does all Harry’s work with ex servicemen, his strong involvement with African charities count for nothing?
He and his wife have worked hard on behalf of disadvantaged people in many ways yet they are rewarded with negativity and sour sniping. This attitude towards them now seems irreversible..I wonder why?
Perhaps they should appear on TV accompanied by a National Treasure?

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 18:22:32

Good grief . Thank you Merlot

I will settle for William and Kate’s caring , for them caring means action .

merlotgran Tue 17-Dec-19 18:15:09

'Without a sense of caring, there can be no sense of community.' hmm

All H&M do is 'share' the occasional homily and leave the real work to William and Kate. Got it made!

Anniebach Tue 17-Dec-19 17:58:07

Merlot what have they said now ? Not more on saving the planet I hope.

Grace Foods is a Jamaican company, and Cock flavour is how they label their chicken flavours. Include it in your hamper as long as the recipients can take a joke!

I think they have really grown into their role. They strike the right balance between being down to earth and relatable to whilst still being dignified. I think it is good that they are aware of the privileged life they lead and are pointing this out to their children and making them realise that there are others who struggle.
