Morcambe and Wise- just not funny anymore?

I remember my parents ( and much of the nation) religiously tuning into The Morcambe and Wise show and laughing along to it. BBC2 are repeating some of their shows, I caught the last 10 minutes of one and all the family thought it cringeworthy and unfunny. Their humour has definitely not stood the test of time. Or is it just me?

Sorry just seen another thread praising them!

Well, everyone to their own I suppose...
Caught the tale-end of their programme last night, the Andrew Preview (or should that be Andre Previn?) sketch, followed by Glenda Jackson, and it is just as fresh and funny as it was in the seventies. Three generations of us roaring with laughter. Can't help thinking that today's comedians are not a patch on them.

I do love them both but felt we had too much of them this year.

Tend to agree with you Suzied but I didn't watch it because I wasn't that keen first time around.

I suppose that we are frequently shown the same old episodes so get sort of used to them.
I only have to catch sight of them and I'm smiling. Just love Eric and Ernie!
