Anyone watching this? I shunned it at first thinking it would be totally crass ( and the panel is truly awful) but I m really enjoying it as a bit of madness in this sad old world

Nandalot Sun 02-Feb-20 15:12:20

I suppose it is the human face but one which is totally inanimate. Perhaps it’s just me then!

BlueBelle Sun 02-Feb-20 15:07:47

What way is it disturbing nandalot I must have missed something and I m curious now

Nandalot Sun 02-Feb-20 15:03:00

Does anyone else find the Queen Bee costume a bit disturbing? It could work in a horror movie. I think the fox is an amazing costume.

Nandalot Sun 02-Feb-20 15:00:26

I am enjoying it too, but not enjoying my DH’s grumbles when they shout ‘Take it off! Mind you, I find that a bit annoying too.

merlotgran Sun 02-Feb-20 14:26:15

So far all my guesses have been A listers but I'm not sure they'd want to do this until it becomes more of a hit show.

I do hope there are some big name surprises at the end though.

Susan56 Sun 02-Feb-20 14:23:06

DH thinks Katherine Jenkins or Lesley Garrett for Octopus.I think Denise van Outen for fox.

Grandmaof2 Sun 02-Feb-20 13:32:31

I watched the repeat of yesterdays, I am thinking that Monster is Tom Jones, Fox is Cher and Hedgehog is Michael Ball. Thought that of Hedgehog from day one, today theres something about the others voices, Will see soon enough who they all are.

I agree with you merlotgran Sharon and Kelly were great

merlotgran Sun 02-Feb-20 12:53:59

I'd like to see Sharon and Kelly Osborne again. They were fun together.

When Duck was unmasked I messaged DGD to ask who the heck it was but when the reply came back I was none the wiser. grin

I guess we're just too old grin

Grandma2213 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:48:19

I had no intention of watching it either but then got caught up in it though I have no idea who most of the singers have been so far! It's a great concept and I have to say the judges are mostly less annoying than those on other talent shows.

callgirl1 Sun 02-Feb-20 00:16:15

Well, I was completely wrong about Duck, I was convinced it was Nicole Scherzinger, never heard of the person who emerged.

merlotgran Sun 02-Feb-20 00:02:21

Is Connie Fisher still singing? I know she had to give up for a while due to throat problems but a lot of clues for Fox pointed towards her, especially the card from ALW (Andrew Lloyd Webber?)

hmm confused

merlotgran Sat 01-Feb-20 23:56:27

Ha Ha, MiniMoon, For Hedgehog we've gone through Alfie Boe, Michael Ball, Michael Crawford, Alexander Armstrong and that bloke who does the Go Compare adverts.

Tonight he sounded completely different.

AAAAArrrrrgh!!

grin

MiniMoon Sat 01-Feb-20 22:39:47

Methinks that the hedgehog is Alfie Boe, but I may be wrong.
Octopus might be Charlotte Church, but I'm also thinking Katherine Jenkins, or perhaps she's a bit too operatic.
Monster is great, but I've absolutely no idea about him.

merlotgran Sat 01-Feb-20 22:19:31

I wondered if Octopus might be Gregory Porter.

We tend to think of older singers. Haven't a clue who the young ones are grin

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 22:13:48

Monster had a great voice, his version of Only Human was as good if not better than the original.

lemongrove Sat 01-Feb-20 22:12:18

We watch it too, crazy but great fun isn’t it? The panel can be annoying though (Sharon and Kelly weren’t though) and they guessed right tonight on one at least!
Hedgehog definitely has a Northern accent, and maybe Octopus is Charlotte Church?
Oh, just noticed your post Bluebelle thinking the same.

BlueBelle Sat 01-Feb-20 20:45:41

I think Charlotte Church is Octopus.... Wales was also mentioned
CeeLo Green for the monster but whoever it is I think they are adorable
I thought Hedgehog was Michael Ball but I don’t now moved from him but not sure who it is
I love it completely bonkers but lovely bonkers
I didn’t know the duck lady at all so wouldn’t have guessed her

merlotgran Sat 01-Feb-20 20:09:31

Charlotte Church is Octopus?

It's hard because they all sound different tonight. grin

This show started two weeks ago here in Italy.

I too thought it would be rubbish but it is has me hooked. It's FUN!

The masks seem to be different. We have the unicorn too but then the angel, the monster, the poodle, the mastiff, the White rabbit.

The quality of the singing, the lighting and the brilliant dancers, who accompany the masks onstage are all brilliant.

Where did this show originate? U.S.A.'

merlotgran Sun 26-Jan-20 12:42:09

We were going to give it a miss then one of our DGDs messaged to say, 'Are you watching it? It's bonkers!!

We like to watch things we can discuss on messenger and have a laugh with them - like Strictly, so we put it on and now we're hooked! grin

henetha Sun 26-Jan-20 10:55:00

I didn't expect to like this programme but it's got me hooked.
The costumes are great and it's fun trying to guess the singer.
I agree about Lesley Garrett for octopus; didn't think about Alexander Armstrong but now that you mention it he could be
hedgehog....possibly.... or Jason Manford.. or....

merlotgran Sun 26-Jan-20 09:57:23

I didn't clock the Billy Connolly clue, ga. Jason Munford has a good voice so you could be right.

Didn't know last night's unmasked singer and I didn't rate her singing much.

shysal Sun 26-Jan-20 07:38:11

I agree with downtoearth about Queen Bee being Leona Lewis. On previous programmes I thought Unicorn was John Barrowman, but wasn't so sure last night.
I was pleased to see Donny Osmond, who used to be DD1's idol. In fact her favourite colour is still purple (each brother had their usual colour of shirt).

downtoearth Sun 26-Jan-20 06:51:09

I thought octopus could be Lesley Garrett or maybe Katherine Jenkins.
And Queen bee..Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke

grannyactivist Sun 26-Jan-20 00:27:53

I think Hedgehog is Jason Manford; he's a singer, actor and comedian, plus he's known for being a huge Billy Connolly fan - and he sang an Oasis song tonight, a clue to his Manchester origins, perhaps?
