I really enjoyed the first series but seeing as it was two years ago I'm finding it hard to piece it all together given there are so many necessary but confusing flashbacks.

A few of the characters look alike as well which makes it worse.

Hopefully it will become clearer next week.

So, c'mon everybody ..... who killed Andrew Earlham? I still think it was Oliver.

Chestnut Sat 04-Apr-20 10:52:26

I'm struggling as I said. The plot is so convoluted it's become tiresome. I'm fed up seeing Laura walking angrily down the street with her unkempt hair flapping around, looking like she's chewing a wasp. I'm not enjoying it but will watch the last episode in the hope that Laura will eventually stop looking so miserable.

I watched them making the programme in the town where I live; the crew were encamped in big trailers in a large car park next to my local beach. I watched the first series but kept getting distracted spotting all the local landmarks! It was funny to see a local greasy spoon cafe transformed into a fine dining restaurant in one episode. I haven’t been watching the new one as I find it confusing to have the flashback formula in any film.

I suppose, thinking about it, you're right Sparklefizz, but I'm still quite enjoying it.

The police are ridiculous in this series. How could a slender young woman weighing about 8 stone kill a 6 foot tall man in a shipping container and then remove his body to the place where he was found? How could she even kill him in the first place? He would be so much stronger than her. It doesn't make sense at all, and I would have given up long ago if it wasn't that I have more time on my hands while on lockdown.

I was getting annoyed/frustrated with it, but finally she is getting to the truth, with help from her sister and her ex.

I don't think his son did it, but maybe. Really his friend Oliver is most likely as he must realise the possibility of blackmail will never go away. Cannot believe that policeman!

Atqui Thu 02-Apr-20 14:31:37

It’s terribly confusing. I think Earlham either forced Oliver to plant the key or he did it himself using blood extracted by Oliver. So improbable thought....as if she would have confronted the detective with the phone evidence instead of going to police complaints. ( she could have said she found the phone)

I loved the first series and eagerly awaited the second. I haven’t the faintest clue what’s going on. I don’t know if I can be bothered to watch it to the end. It’s too much like hard work.

I gave up a third of the way through this week's episode. I really don't want to watch any more. Jumping backwards and forwards in time has left me totally confused and I've completely lost interest. I don't care who killed him, or is he even dead? I keep wondering what time frame we're in, and whether he is actually still alive? Have I stepped into a parallel universe? I have invested so much time into this series I really must force myself to finish this episode but I'm really hating it now. Then just one more to go, can't wait to put it to bed.

Or the villain?

I am another one who is finding it all a bit silly now. The first series was good, and an interesting premise, but this is just unbelievable.

Teetime Tue 31-Mar-20 10:16:17

I had trouble getting through last night- Laura is so annoying and I suppose the nasty lady police inspector will eventually be her saviour.

travelsafar Tue 31-Mar-20 09:56:53

I agree Calendargirl, it is getting boring now.

Calendargirl Tue 31-Mar-20 09:48:57

Only one more episode to go, thank goodness. I shall stick with it until the bitter end, but don’t really care what happens.
I nodded off for a few minutes last night ? and missed a bit about the detective’s son with the drug problem, but think I got the gist.
Did Luke the son kill his weird dad Andrew?

Sparklefizz Fri 27-Mar-20 20:00:03

Oh sorry, katie1, I misunderstood.

katie1 Fri 27-Mar-20 19:28:12

Sparklefizz, what I meant to say is that I have never truly been convinced Laura was attacked by Earlham ?

Pittcity Thu 26-Mar-20 13:45:46

The sister was an anaesthetist. She worked with Earlham and was suspended for being drunk on duty.

Calendargirl Thu 26-Mar-20 13:14:21

I know what you mean about the sister, I thought she was a nurse, but something this week suggested she was a doctor.

The way the storyline is going, don’t suppose it matters either way.

Sparklefizz Thu 26-Mar-20 12:25:26

For what it's worth, I think the killer of Andrew Earlham is his so-called mate, Oliver.

Oliver has plenty of motive because Andrew knows a lot of unpleasant things about him so presumably he would be glad to get rid of him, Oliver also knows where Laura lives because he gave Andrew a lift there, so he could have planted the keys to stitch her up. Oliver doesn't care two hoots about Laura and whether or not she is wrongly convicted, he doesn't even know her.

Sparklefizz Thu 26-Mar-20 12:22:15

Katie is the name of the sister who is the nurse.
Laura is the victim.

katie1 Wed 25-Mar-20 20:05:42

I am having trouble following it. I thought Laura's sister was a nurse ? I have always thought Laura wasn't the victim ?

Sparklefizz Wed 25-Mar-20 10:52:42

Bridie Yes, he was seeing prostitutes to enact the "unconscious woman scenario".

For me this is all getting too unbelievable. It's muddled and new characters suddenly appearing, and I am only watching it because I'm in isolation.

mumofmadboys Last night was episode 4, I think, so probably 2 more.

Jane43 Wed 25-Mar-20 10:15:05

They seem to be throwing in too many other stories, it’s getting confusing for me.

mumofmadboys Tue 24-Mar-20 23:07:37

Who put Andrew's car key in Laura's drawer? Was it Katie?

Eloethan Tue 24-Mar-20 15:21:23

I found it muddled too - and, like many dramas these days - increasingly difficult to believe. I'm starting to lose interest.

Bridie22 Tue 24-Mar-20 14:50:24

Two more episodes left, I'm enjoying it, think that was a call girl on the bed ?!
