I think it’s wonderful to accept who you are; weight and all BUT if you’ve got diabetes as well you can’t make a decision to stay fat.

She really doesn't care. I think that's why I like her so much!

I wish MM. would have a makeover - she looks as though she doesn’t care at all, but for modesty at least, I wish she’d ditch the short frocks.

I don't think I'd like to be filmed trying to eat pasta though!

Calendargirl Wed 11-Mar-20 20:50:22

I think a coarse feeder means the way she stuffed food in her mouth as though it might disappear if she didn’t gobble it up quickly.

Greymar Wed 11-Mar-20 20:30:43

Whats a coarse feeder?

I thought this programme was great, she did it well.

I have the same issues, and totally agree when she this is a problem with our minds. Most of those people overate because of emotions, not just greediness.

I like her acting but in RL, Christ! isn't she a coarse feedershock
The little girl was a delightsmile

I think shaoeb was his body ????no idea where that came from, oh dear how funny

Just watched part 2. Well isn't she a wee charmer. Very thoughtful but direct. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. I can't think of anyone with a nicer one. A cheeky wee face too. What a woman sunshine

A really informative programme that doesn't preach and Miriam Margoyles is a joy. Let's see more of her on the TV please.

Just caught up with these two episodes, found it interesting and thoughtful.

What a lovely compassionate soothing person Miriam is,what you see is what your get, she made me smile at her little tuck boxes she kept eating/she would make a great counselor.Easy to listen to with a kind voice.

A thought provoking program with not much mention of which diet is best etc etc . It was all about body perception and the threat of diabetes, I was shocked at the amount of amputees caused by diabetes. Really enjoyed it and gave me food for thought.

I was pleased Miriam queried about the chocolate that the father obviously wasn’t keen to give up, even though it put temptation in his daughter’s path. If it wasn’t in the house, she couldn’t steal it and eat it.
I try and not have biscuits and chocolate in the home as if it’s there, it calls you!

Really enjoyed this episode. Miriam and the little girl who 'steals' chocolate seemed like 'partners in crime' smile I just loved how they spoke to each other and the bit with the tent and the birthday cake was such good fun.

I don't know what a shaoeb is either. Please share, BlueBelle grin. Some of us have led sheltered lives, you know..wink

welbeck Wed 11-Mar-20 02:45:08

i must have missed the bit where he showed off his shaoeb; just as well; i'm probably too young to know what it is...

BlueBelle Wed 11-Mar-20 00:06:38

I thought she was delightful with the little girl especially when she was trying to get her little round body in and out the tent and when the body builder man was showing off his shaoeb she said something like it’s a bit loose round the tinkle referring to his blue pants (and they were) she always has a mischievous twinkle in her eyes I thought it was a delightful programme

Thanks Atqui

I found today's episode fascinating. Miriam really explores how people think and feel about body image.

Ohmother Tue 10-Mar-20 22:39:56

I really warmed to her in this programme. I’d thought she was lovely with all she met and said it as she saw it. I like people like that.

Saddened by the girl who had lost so much weight, acquired a “sleeve” tattoo, what looked like collagen enhanced lips, microplaned eyebrows and was planning a boob enhancement(she was very curvy already) - I felt she was embarking n a mission to look like a Kardashian, not the “normal” pretty girl she could be.
Self-image is such a fickle thing.

Callistemon Tue 10-Mar-20 22:15:13

I have recorded it, shall watch it when DH goes out!

EllanVannin Tue 10-Mar-20 22:06:35

Really funny tonight.

Deedaa Tue 10-Mar-20 20:13:20

I met her several years ago and she was lovely.

Jane10 Tue 10-Mar-20 17:03:44

Atqui- good points. If only losing weight was that simple! I've gained and lost weight over the years. Sometimes I've been a bit too thin. However, I've ended up with the same size and body shape as my grandmother(s) and great aunts. Can't beat your genes!
Trying specifically to lose weight makes me obsessed with food somehow. That's why I liked the 16:8 approach.
