Seeing as we're all staying in a little lot more, we'd imagine the telly is getting a fair amount of attention. If you want to chat about whatever you're watching while it's on (or the next day) please do check our Telly forum topic and join in if there's already a conversation running. If not, why not start one? There's almost certainly someone else on here who's watching alongside you and would love the opportunity to dissect the plot/suggest whodunnit/debate actor's suitability to role/just want to say they love or hate it. grin

Anyone with access to Amazon Prime, highly recommend 'This Is Us'. There are 4 series available at the moment, and each one has around 18 episodes. I have almost finished Series 3, definitely binge watching! Is anyone else hooked?

We watched The Salisbury Poisonings too and it did appear to give a true picture of what happened.
I thought it was very poignant when many of the people involved gathered together at the end, especially seeing Dawn's family all together.

I have recently watched "Pistorius" on Amazon Prime which I also enjoyed. Still not sure if he was guilty of murder or not because I know what South Africa is like re crime, (relatives live out there) and he must have been fearful due to being so vulnerable without his legs. Anyone else watched it?

Really enjoyed The Salisbury Poisonings. Also watching "Little Fires Everywhere" on Amazon Prime also good.

Sparklefizz Thu 18-Jun-20 08:55:15

Marmight The Salisbury Poisonings is a real-life version of "Spooks" which I am also watching. Gripping and terrifying. shock

Marmight Thu 18-Jun-20 08:07:00

I watched the Salisbury Poisonings back to back on sunday on iplayer. It was totally gripping shock
Last night I watched the Great British Sewing Bee. I love it especially as I can hardly sew on a button!

Thanks Sparklefizz. I do sometimes have problems getting My5 to work but I will give it a try this evening.

Change of plan last night and we too started watching The Salisbury Poisonings. A very frightening time for those who lived in the area when it transpired how deathly results could be for those in contact with the spread.
Looking forward to part 2.

Sparklefizz Mon 15-Jun-20 13:31:13

Part 2 of The Salisbury Poisonings tonight - can't wait. Thought last night's episode was very good. I know we only recently lived through it, but seeing all the "backroom scenes" of police, hospitals, Porton Down, Public Health, etc really emphasised what a complete and overwhelming catastrophe it was.

Sparklefizz Mon 15-Jun-20 13:28:35

Jane43 I expect you could catch up with the W & K programme on My 5. It was very interesting.

Jane43 Mon 15-Jun-20 12:30:32

This is a great thread, there are some good suggestions here for future viewing and I have made a note of them. I completely missed that the William and Kate programme was on. I agree Sparklefizz, Kate and her mother were subject to a lot of unpleasantness for a long time before Kate married William but neither of them ever rose to the bait or had a hissy fit. Both Kate’s parents seem like lovely people and I’m sure W and K’s three children will benefit from having them as Grandparents.

The Novochock/Salisbury dramatisation starts tonight, so will be watching that.

Other than that have started viewing two new series, one on BBC Iplayer "I may destroy you" first screened on Monday. The actress who plays the main character wrote the script from her own experiences of having her drink spiked and was assaulted but had no recollection of that until it came back to her in flashbacks.

Having inadvertently signed up to Amazon Prime, I've decided to keep it going for a while, at least until I've finished viewing "Little Fires Everywhere" having read the book I was keen to see the dramatisation, watched the first episode last night.

We will be watching series two of Inside Monaco. An hour and thirty minutes from where we lived in France and where DD2 was based. No desire to go through during the summer months when it was filled with plastic people and tourists mainly visiting to be photographed alongside flashy cars and super yachts!?
Completely different place when empty of all of the above.

Also have Monty to catch up with tonight. I planted cabbage years ago but having to deal with eventually using a pesticide to rid them of bugs quite put me off doing it again.

A quick in and out first visit to our local garden centre which was thankfully very quiet, wasn’t until I got home I realised one of my purchases of what I thought was parsley turned out to be celeriac. Very similar leaves?. Lots of roast celeriac on the menu then!

I really enjoy 'The Ranganation' on BBC 2 tonight. I find myself laughing out loud more often while watching this than at any other time in the week. Romesh is funny but so are his panel of people from around the country. His interactions with his mum are hilarious.

Sparklefizz Sun 14-Jun-20 10:55:42

Anyone watch "Kate and William" last night on Channel 5?

Kate and her parents, particularly her mother, had to put up with such a lot of media pressure and unpleasantness for 8 years before she married William, yet they handled it with such grace.

BBbevan Sun 14-Jun-20 05:59:09

We have been watching Rhod Gilbert’s Work Experience on iPlayer. Laugh out loud for DH. First time in ages .

Callistemon Sat 13-Jun-20 21:36:44

We thoroughly enjoyed Goodbye Christopher Robin and I did shed a tear or two.

Marmight Sat 13-Jun-20 21:34:33

grannylyn65 Sat 13-Jun-20 20:36:13

Kate1949 Sat 13-Jun-20 20:31:53

Oh merlot Goodbye Christopher Robin is lovely. We watched it a while ago. We both loved it. I've just recorded it on plus 4 as I didn't know it was on.

Lovely Jane McDonald at the moment and quietly reminiscing at the places I've been to. Then the paintings followed by the Royal Families until bedtime. Ooo, a late one tonight.grin

I shall be watching 'Great Paintings of the World' with Andrew Marr at 8.15pm. Vincent Van Gogh and 'Sunflowers' this week.

One of my favourite artists. I saw his work in the Vincent Van Gogh museum I Amsterdam and it was amazing, especially the oil paintings.
