The view exactly across from the house is close to Ardentinny.
The house is in Cove on Loch Long.
The loch meets the River Clyde and then you see Gourock and Greenock.
I used to live in Cove and travelled on the ferry from Gourock to Kilcreggan. It is a beautiful place to live.

We’re enjoying it too and loving the Scottish accents. No need for subtitles for 2 expat Glaswegians!

Marydoll Sun 05-Apr-20 23:54:55

paddyanne, thanks. DH and I were disagreeing about where it was. I was convinced it was Greenock I could see across the water. He said I was imagining it! ?

I love the way all the characters are good people, except that man, don't know who he is, who is a sort of business associate and who suggested an act of God would be a good solution.

The biggest tragedy is Kaya's earlier boyfriend's death poor wee soul .

Yes pittcity I thought Kaia looked big for 25 weeks & the baby certainly did.I think like you that the baby won't be Emily & Dan's.Love the series.

The house is in Cove near my daughters home .Views are to Gourock and Greenock and in the distance Arran.Thats the exact view from my daughters living room .

Bridie22 Sun 05-Apr-20 22:22:34

Enjoying it, but another one that had to put subtitles on !

Pittcity Sun 05-Apr-20 22:20:11

The plot thickens. That was a big baby for 25 weeks and it might not even be theirs......?

I enjoyed he first two. Will watch the series. There are 4 episodes I think?

The actor playing the social worker is James Harkness and the drama about the child killer was The Victim. Nicole Taylor wrote The Nest and she also wrote the excellent Three Girls about grooming of young girls in Rochdale.

Jane43 Thu 02-Apr-20 12:51:17

It is an excellent drama. The actor playing the social worker played a child killer who was given a new identity in a series a while back, possibly last year. It made me wonder if it was written by the same person. Regardless of that I am enjoying it very much.

I was fascinated by the house too. Apparently it's available for holiday rental (though not at the moment I suppose!). Gripping series.

Thanks Marydoll

Marydoll Wed 01-Apr-20 12:11:17

Martin Compston is from Greenock, so further down the coast from Glasgow.

trisher Wed 01-Apr-20 12:07:44

I wondered if he was Glaswegian, I know that the accent is different to other parts of Scotland.

Parsley3 Wed 01-Apr-20 12:04:20

Just watched the second episode and it did not disappoint. I have had lunch in Martin’s bar. Martin’s accent is probably more Glaswegian than usual. Anyone recognise Methadone Mick from Still Game?

ginny Wed 01-Apr-20 10:24:12

Looking forward to watching the second episode.

gulligranny Wed 01-Apr-20 10:09:12

Yes, me too. Terrific acting and plot-lines, gorgeous locations and that overall sense of dread that makes a good series into an excellent one. Definitely worth watching.

Sar53 Tue 31-Mar-20 17:29:54

I'm also enjoying it.

Pittcity Tue 31-Mar-20 16:48:46

I have been watching with the subtitles on and enjoying it.
It is Martin Compston's real accent.

trisher Tue 31-Mar-20 16:29:44

Is anyone watching this? Martin Compston from Line of Duty being very Scottish and a bit threatening. A surrogacy which is illegal and going wrong, with a mysterious 18 year old. It's probably a bit far fetched but the acting is good (although the accents can be a bit much). The house the couple live in is amazing.
