Thanks for thatsmile
I've loved all the slow television programmes and I know I'll like this too. So that's this afternoon sorted.

Oooh I hadn’t seen the others, I’ll look out for the balloon one. I’m missing Cliveden ( National Trust near us) and Wisley .. and all the other beautiful places that are further away than I can walk to!!! [sigh]

Channel 5 have Britain by Balloon. It was screened on Sunday at 6pm and is available on catch-up. DH and I watched it yesterday, it was lovely. A balloon flight in the Lake District.
Perfect for anyone missing the countryside, absolutely glorious scenery.

Yes! And I’ve watched the canal one the bus one and the one about the Sami women with reindeer and sleigh.

Everyone I have loved.

Did you see the one set in northern Finland to Sweden, bringing the reindeer down to an island for their summer pasture?
That was lovely too.

I loved it.

We went walking into the hills from a farm with Hardwick on the Lakes it was a lovely day and the dog adored it.

I love every single one of those slow television programmes

Thanks for the reminder, I'm just watching it. We used to go walking in Eskdale.
Yes those sheep dogs must have endless energy, a real team, with the shepherds.
A life so different from ours. No wonder lamb is expensive.

Yes, I agree with you LadyO, we watched it enjoyed the wonderful scenery and the peace and quiet, almost felt as though we could have been there, except that we would never have lasted out the whole day. What stamina both the shepherds, dogs and sheep must have. I have never seen sheepdogs like those before, fascinating.

It was a lovely bit of 'time-out' in a fraught day/week/month.

What a delight... gentle TV at its best. It was on BBC4 last night so it’s still available on catchup. A flock of Herdwicke sheep being gathered from Scafell Pike and taken down to be sheared. Absolutely delightful - we live in South Bucks and were missing our annual hiking holiday in The Lakes so much ... this reminded us of all the fabulous scenery and the Herdies are so full of character. ?
