I recorded the first episode last night. I started to watch, but it seems to be yet another BBC drama set partly in the dark. Is it just me?
If anyone has watched the whole hour, is it worth persevering?

I missed episode 3 I m really wondering g if it’s worth going back and watching it or just forget it

I have now seen 2 episodes and I am struggling to stay focussed. I cannot understand how the main character has survived the huge voyage but appears to be so stupid. Unfortunately a New Zealand relative has made me promise to watch it to the end. She loved it but cannot find anyone else who feels the same. I will probably be attempting episode 3 with my eyes taped open.

grin
Just read the synopsis and the reviews and tell her you loved the scenery, Gajahgran.

At the end of episode 1 I decided the main character was stupid so couldn't be bothered to see what was her fate.

Good idea Callistemon I will do that. Thanks ?

Anybody watch this last night? The flashbacks and forwards were so confusing

I find it all implausible. Things happen and how does she get herself all cleaned up, by the next scene?
Can't follow the plot at all.
And first she can't read then she can???
I might just watch the bits of the boat and the scenery and fast forward the rest.

I gave up after episode one, but wish it had been better as Sunday night viewing is awful at the moment.

BlueBelle Mon 06-Jul-20 15:35:48

I managed 2 then gave up am I missing much ?

gajahgran don’t be afraid to voice a different opinion to a relative I would never tell someone I enjoyed something that I didn’t

Bluebell I do know what you mean but she is such a kind and lovely person I cannot disappoint her. Its very difficult when someone is such a long way away. Its not so easy just to have a laugh about it. I have now watched it till the end and whilst I cannot say I really enjoyed it, the plot did become a lot clearer and there was a (sort of) happy ending.

BlueBelle Thu 09-Jul-20 18:36:52

See I don’t see it unkind to have a different opinion, perhaps
I m just not a good liar, but I d find it very hard to tell someone, however lovely, that I enjoyed something I didn’t gajargran Guess we re all different I think I learnt it a long time ago when my mum bought me a decorative wooden cat
I told her it was lovely, after that every time she went on holiday I got another wooden cat ?
?

Bluebell I love your cat story. Now I know why I have a collection of teapots, as soon as anybody saw I had some teapots they decided they knew what I would want for Christmas! I have had to hide a lot of them in the loft.
