Is anyone else watching this?

Starring Laura Carmichael (Lady Edith from Downton).

It’s Australian, quite predictable, I guessed the plot lines in each of the first two episodes, but will keep watching.

Maybelle Wed 08-Jul-20 10:42:36

Watched both episodes shown so far and enjoying it.

henetha Wed 08-Jul-20 10:44:23

Yes, I guessed it too, but still enjoy it in a mild sort of way.
So many repeats at the moment that it's nice to have something that isn't!

lemongrove Wed 08-Jul-20 12:01:23

Which channel is it on please?

suziewoozie Wed 08-Jul-20 12:05:15

BBC1. It’s in my category of good rubbish. My friends in Sydney have a house that has a view over the bridge and park that appears in it. Enjoying it in ‘ooh that's a nice house/jacket/top sort of way

Sparklefizz Wed 08-Jul-20 12:07:27

Yes, I'm enjoying it. Predictable, as mentioned, but good to have a change.

sodapop Wed 08-Jul-20 12:12:36

Ditto Sparklefizz

Joolz22 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:13:27

I agree fairly predictable story so far, but a welcome change from all the repeats we get in the summer months.

suziewoozie Wed 08-Jul-20 12:18:08

There’s a lot of Australian stuff around at the moment - some new things start this week I think.

Puzzler61 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:22:51

I’m watching. Wondering where Aggie will get the baby from she desperately wants.
She returned to her hometown when she knew the “father” was coming back to her for the birth, allegedly, so when she took off and made the sudden train journey, wouldn’t his mother raise the alarm to look for her immediately? She is supposed to be about 38 weeks pregnant.
Or did I nod off and miss something?
There are a few holes in the story but it’s watchable enough.

suziewoozie Wed 08-Jul-20 12:25:57

She was looking at Stanley knives online - hummm I think we know.

merlotgran Wed 08-Jul-20 12:28:28

I'm enjoying it as well.

I'm also looking forward to Mrs. America, starting tonight on BBC2. I love social and political recent history dramas.

Puzzler61 Wed 08-Jul-20 12:30:59

Oh yes, I am too merlot.
I set it to record when I saw the trailers in case I forgot on the day (and I had till you reminded me) ?

Charleygirl5 Wed 08-Jul-20 13:48:14

There is little else to watch and it is only on for 45 minutes. It makes a change from the 50 million repeats.

I thought I may record Mrs America- I have an off button if I do not like it.

phoenix Wed 08-Jul-20 13:52:28

Watching it (after all, there's not a huge choice) predictable in places, but interesting enough to carry on with.

lemongrove Wed 08-Jul-20 14:31:36

I shall look for it, sounds like a pleasant series.
thanks for the channel answer suziew

Orangerose Wed 08-Jul-20 14:34:58

A load of rubbish. Predictable and poorly acted. I certainly won’t waste my time watching anymore.

shysal Wed 08-Jul-20 14:54:35

I enjoyed the first two episodes so watched the remaining 4 on iplayer this morning while it poured with rain outside. I found it gripping. My first ever binge-watch!

TerriBull Wed 08-Jul-20 15:28:29

Yes watching it, Lady Edith appears to have morphed into a thoroughly bad lot shock I will carry on with it to see if she can redeem herself.

Puzzler61 Wed 08-Jul-20 16:46:22

She can certainly change her personality on the turn of a sixpence as they say. Is she mad or is she just bad????

BlueBelle Wed 08-Jul-20 17:52:24

I m watching it feeling a bit neutral neither hating or loving but as other said precious little else so better than nothing I m hoping there’s some twists somewhere or else it will be a bit dire

hondagirl Thu 09-Jul-20 02:47:50

It's based on a book by Australian psychological thriller writer Michael Robotham. He has won several awards apparently. I have read some of his books and quite enjoyed them.

mistymitts Thu 09-Jul-20 03:44:42

Quite enjoyed it,bit predictable and not outstanding in the acting department. Have binged watched 'I will destroy you'.
Still remains in my head. Excellent and relevant.

suziewoozie Fri 10-Jul-20 00:17:14

Oh dear oh dear oh dear. Imo it really was awful and so clearly set up for Series 2. The baby was cute.

Namsnanny Fri 10-Jul-20 01:05:16

I tend to agree with BlueBell!
