I watched the first episode of this Danish crime drama on iPlayer yesterday and it looked very good. Mainly sub titles although occasionally the characters speak in English.

Sounds interesting. Will have a look now.

I’m really enjoying it and keeping my fingers crossed that I continue so to do. Interesting group of characters

Lisagran Mon 26-Oct-20 14:19:58

I’ve watched the first two episodes - some quite good plot twists. I like a bit of Scandi Noir smile

Doodle Mon 26-Oct-20 14:22:49

Don’t we know it Lisagran and the more Scandi the better ?

Lisagran Mon 26-Oct-20 14:26:04

Doodle you promised not to mention the Swedish policeman.....

Doodle Mon 26-Oct-20 14:39:30

The Swedish policeman........I thought there was more than one. ?

Aaarrgh! Finished episode 2 and now find I've got to wait till next week. I was hoping all 8 episodes would be on iPlayer.

suziewoozie Mon 26-Oct-20 15:13:29

So were we ?

fevertree Mon 26-Oct-20 15:27:20

I'm finding it very hard to believe that a policeman would leave his baby unattended on a ferry in stormy weather confused.

suziewoozie Mon 26-Oct-20 15:29:28

I’ve worked really hard on swallowing this fever. Please do not make it any more difficult for me than it already is?

Lisagran Mon 26-Oct-20 15:38:14

You have to have a willing suspension of disbelief to enjoy it!

fevertree Mon 26-Oct-20 15:58:16

smile difficult to suspend belief with husband as commentator. I shall watch Episode 3 on my own. wink

Lisagran Mon 26-Oct-20 16:08:50

Oh, I hate that, fevertree!

Callistemon Mon 26-Oct-20 16:15:48

fevertree

I'm finding it very hard to believe that a policeman would leave his baby unattended on a ferry in stormy weather confused.

I found it difficult to believe he took her in the first place.

But we have to suspend belief.

Callistemon Mon 26-Oct-20 16:16:47

DH got a bit exasperated as I chuntered at a few things that happened.

The nest episode is about to start and I will be watching.

I’m just loving this - but have to concentrate.

I've come to this series late and am catching up have seen 3 episodes so far, I think it's very good, a somewhat upsetting subject of course. I have been disappointed in some of the Danish series of late, after the initial euphoria with the better Scandi exports, but this one is back on form. Episode 2 featured one of the much derided mink farms of Denmark which are very much in the news at present.

I knew I'd seen the Polish actress before she was in "World on Fire" played a resistance fighter in war torn Poland.

We watched the current two episodes last night. It's good, great cast and interesting story line. The policeman took his baby to work because it was his turn to look after her but like many obsessives, couldn't prioritise her needs over his work. Ok that stretches credibility but its part of the story.
Those nuns are scrarey aren't they

Whitewavemark2 Mon 09-Nov-20 09:30:54

Yes we have the last one (I think) to watch.

The nuns remind so much of stories you hear in this country and Ireland.

Lisagran Mon 09-Nov-20 09:53:44

The childbirth scenes in the convent were really upsetting.

Witzend Mon 09-Nov-20 10:00:34

@fevertree, me too. I’ve enjoyed it so far, but this did look like a plot contrivance too far - baby out on deck in a pram in a storm - oops, dad has to go inside to throw up....
Just too ‘convenient’!

TerriBull Mon 09-Nov-20 10:14:09

Clearly, I've got a lot more to catch up with and yes having first hand experience of nuns at my convent school, they were indeed a scary lot shockThere was the odd nice one like the French nun who took us for art.

Sunlover Mon 09-Nov-20 11:11:52

Loving this series. Didn’t really understand why he took his daughter on the ferry rather than asking his friends wife to look after her. Yes the nuns are really scary.
