When I was part of a folk singing trio, my least favourite song was Wild Mountain Thyme. It was the 2nd half of the first line that defeated me - Oh the Simmer time is comin and the Trees are sweetly bloomin. Bloomin was fine but for some unfathomable reason I could not get my tongue around "trees are sweetly", always came out as "Theresas weetly" Eventually, I just mimed these 3 words and no one seemed to notice.

I may be wrong, travelsafar, but I think this is a new film and not on TV yet.

Love Rosamunde Pilcher too. My favourite book is Winter Solstice, then September.
Anything about the Highlands, cosy kitchens and picnics on the hill can’t be bad!

Another Rosamunde Pilcher fan here. I seem to remember leaving my copy of the Shell Seekers in a book swap on a Greek island years ago so if anyone picked one up and read it on holiday it might have been mine.

Oh this sounds good I adore that song.

The book by Rosamunde Pilcher ( Wild Mountain Thyme)
Is a different book completely, strange to have two with the same title ( even if one is a play.)

The movie was written and directed by John Patrick Shanley- It's based on his play Outside Mullingar and takes place in Ireland- I had no idea it was a play when watching the movie but thought the kitchen conversations would be great scenes in a play! I cried every time they sang Wild Mountain Thyme- It's a heart warmer- It didn't receive good reviews but I enjoyed it very much and would watch it again-

It’s a movie?!
I have just bought this book to read over Christmas (Rosamunde Pilcher) it’s mainly set in Scotland and looked just the sort of thing I enjoy reading.

Beautiful movie! I had trouble understanding the accents but not following the story- It stars Emily Blunt and features Christopher Walken-
