Yes - finally. About to start tonight. 7 episodes. This is in my top three of great crime drama series. The Bridge is second with Shetland third.

The phone will be on silent and MrM had better not interrupt my pleasure. I think he's tempted to watch it though.

Jed Mercurio never ceases to come up with a great story line. Series 3 was probably be best so far for me.

I enjoyed the first couple of seasons. The third one wasn't as good in my opinion. I really reached the stage of not caring who H was.

I think I might wait until all the episodes are available and have a binge. Can't cope with this waiting a week for each episode. My memory being what it is I totally forget what on earth has happened.

Enjoyed the first episode but might save of the later ones to watch together. I can never keep all the ins and outs in my head.

Thank you, Chestnut and Suziewoozie

Doodle dog I do the same with LoD as it takes complete concentration and I watching the recording at my own pace. Jed Mercurio is brilliant.

I have re-watched all the series up to the one with Thandie Newton, which was quite good but a bit silly. I preferred the earlier series. The last series with Stephen Graham I didn't really enjoy much.

This one seems to be shaping up OK but, as The I said yesterday, it does seem to be even more formulaic than previous series.

13 minutes and counting ......

Thanks Tanith, the bbc sounds podcast is really good.

Agree. Sarah Milligan last week 10/10. Do they have a different guest every week? Hope they’re all as good as her

Brilliant episode, Line of Duty at it's best.

ayse Sun 28-Mar-21 22:17:28

I’ve not read most of the comments. Like some others I’ve decided to wait until all the episodes of the current series are available so I can binge watch. I’ve found that binge watching is far more satisfactory than waiting for a week for the next instalment. I shall now avoid this thread to avoid any spoilers. ?

Is the young PC who drives Macdonald the bad boy from previous series who is supposed to have turned good?

Callistemon Sun 28-Mar-21 22:20:31

I doubt he has turned good

He is a new link to an OCG.

Atqui Sun 28-Mar-21 22:25:42

Thanks callistemon. Judging from shift looks You must be right. Is he called Ryan?

Atqui Sun 28-Mar-21 22:26:49

Much better episode than last week

Callistemon Sun 28-Mar-21 22:32:00

Spoiler Alert
Ryan Pilkington

He had a particularly gruesome part to play during series five episode four: he was the person who slit John Corbett’s throat after the undercover cop fell into the trap set by the other members of the OCG.

I didn't realise he was in Series 1 as the boy on the bike delivering burner phones

tanith Sun 28-Mar-21 22:34:07

How the hell ‘Ryan’ got in the police force using his real name after what he did in was it the first or second series? is anyone’s guess.

Sorry that doesn’t make much sense but YKWIM.

Curlywhirly Sun 28-Mar-21 22:35:25

atqui if you have recorded this episode, have a look at the opening snapshots of what has already happened; one of them is from the last series and shows the undercover copper John getting his throat slashed by a lad who then goes on to say he wants to become a policeman. This lad is the new recruit to Davidson's team and the policeman who picked Davidson up on her release from AC12.

tanith Sun 28-Mar-21 22:36:08

Callistemon I’d forgotten about him killing Corbett.

Atqui Sun 28-Mar-21 22:40:41

Good to get that cleared up then !!!!

mamaa Sun 28-Mar-21 22:40:50

Well tonight’s episode was a cracker alright, wasn’t it?
