New Sewing Bee Series to start this week ...

Serena and Raph are neck and neck. Serena has become more creative as the series has progressed and I am looking forward to next week’s show.

I agree Ellianne he has the creative edge on her although hers was a perfect replica. His was so original. (The Dior project)
I don't think Rebecca can win now. Esme has already made her mind up.

What's going to happen on a Wednesday night after tonight? I would be happy to see anyone of them win.

So excited, I can hardly wait. Although, I’m sad it’s finishing.

I'll be happy for whoever wins tonight. It has been a good series with mostly very skilled contestants. If Serena's precision can be joined with stunning creativity, she would be a very worthy winner, but then, either of the others could turn up trumps.
I don't know what will follow the Sewing Bee on Wednesday nights, but am getting irritated by the 'Great British' tag being applied to all sorts of skills, some of which are less than enthralling. I had a look at the photography competition and found it deeply boring! The Professional Bake Off on Channel 4 reaches incredible heights (depths?) of absurdity as the contestants try to make stories with their confections, though it can be me more interesting when one of them collapses spectacularly!

Looking forward to tonight's final. Have warned family members not to phone me between 9 and 10 unless dire emergency ! DS has a habit of phoning for a chat when he goes for his regular nightly walk - might ring him now in case he hasn't paid attention to timing ! Don't think Rebecca will win but who knows ? Should be some great outfits.

I just feel it’s a pity they didn’t use models for the final challenge like they did in previous weeks - IMO those glamorous dresses needed more glamorous presentation.

Could be a win for the dark horse here I think ?

Yes, the models looked a bit ‘clompy’ tonight, you could see they weren’t professionals.

Loved it - thought Rebecca's dress was the most wearable but it had to be judged on skill . I would have been happy for either Serena or Raph to win. Kind of agree with MawBe that models would have "shown" the gowns in the best light.

Esme said it all, about having fairy dust that Serena threw over garments so they didn't look like they hadn't been touched by a human hand.

Rebeccas gown looked glam from afar but it was made in scuba which is a sort of rubber neoprene doesn’t fray or move it is easy to sew unlike the silk, satin and taffeta the others were using, the judges didn’t point that out, the fabric is better suited to a beach dress than red carpet. I thought Raph better design wise and Serena the better sewer.

Well done Serena. She certainly has a golden touch.
