Yes me, guilty on all 3 counts. The correct verdict in my opinion.

BlueBelle Tue 20-Apr-21 22:13:44

Thank heavens for that verdict ....I hope he rots in jail
(but why is this under TV film and the arts)

MayBee70 Tue 20-Apr-21 22:15:29

I’ve never actually seen the footage of his death before. I can’t believe what I’ve just seen. Thank goodness for that verdict. And thank goodness someone filmed it.

Summerlove Tue 20-Apr-21 22:16:34

I’m fully shocked. Pleased, but shocked

BlueBelle Tue 20-Apr-21 22:18:07

When I went on BLM protests I could not believe how long 8 minutes was to kneel it seemed never ending

tidyskatemum Tue 20-Apr-21 22:19:02

About time that a US jury showed some guts

EllanVannin Tue 20-Apr-21 22:20:40

It had to be the right decision. This sort of treatment is inhumane. Let it also be a lesson here too !
I couldn't watch it again.

Returnofthemc Tue 20-Apr-21 22:23:39

I agree that the footage was absolutely horrific, I had to look away
Derek Chauvin's behaviour was beyond disgraceful
I have to wonder if the officers who stood by and did nothing to allieviate the plight of poor George will also face charges. They should

Urmstongran Tue 20-Apr-21 22:29:18

Mr Chauvin showed little emotion as the verdict was read out in the courtroom in downtown Minneapolis. His sentence will be determined in eight weeks.

Justice is done.

PippaZ Tue 20-Apr-21 22:33:26

This is a great step forward and I hope it brings changes. Could I ask if the OP could ask GNHQ to change the title from "result" to "verdict"?

SueDonim Tue 20-Apr-21 22:36:39

Let’s hope this is a watershed moment for America.

Gannygangan Tue 20-Apr-21 22:39:33

Excellent news. Let's hope he's put away for life. Actual life.

EllanVannin Tue 20-Apr-21 22:40:40

OP posted the thread while the results of the charges were being read out before the final verdict, hence the word result.

Shinamae Tue 20-Apr-21 22:41:00

Absolutely the right verdict...

Shandy57 Tue 20-Apr-21 22:42:18

Thank you, I hadn't realised it would be decided tonight. It is terrifying to think what happens behind closed doors out of the public eye.

Will do....

Justice was done. It’s a good job it was filmed. With the filming, I do feel for his family though, I hope they haven’t watched it.

PippaZ Tue 20-Apr-21 22:45:55

Thank you MayBee.

MayBee70 Tue 20-Apr-21 22:46:35

Good job Minnesota doesn’t have the death penalty too. That’s the next thing that needs to go in other states.

Shinamae Tue 20-Apr-21 22:55:59

Have just watched Chauvin as the verdicts were read out, his eyes, I just found his whole demeanour really chilling....

MayBee70 Tue 20-Apr-21 22:59:52

It seemed wrong having the eyes of the world on him as the verdict was announced: I felt uncomfortable with that. Until I watched the footage of what he had done that is.

Alegrias1 Tue 20-Apr-21 23:04:14

I felt grateful for those young people who filmed it, and the people who tried to intervene. That was brave.

MayBee70 Tue 20-Apr-21 23:09:37

I can’t believe that the poor mans first reaction to the police was ‘don’t shoot me’. Can’t imagine a society where someone would think that someone was going to do that.
