Movies which are never on!

I might be wrong here as there are now so many channels, but there seem to be some movies which are never shown and which I'd love to see again! These three for starters:
Nell (Jodie Foster)
Billy Budd (Terence Stamp)
The Collector (Terence Stamp, Samantha Eggar)
Are there any movies you long to see again which are never on?

TwiceAsNice

Sidney Poitier in To Sir with Love. My most favourite film of all time. I think he was gorgeous

That's on quite regularly.

If you use the app IMBD you can find every movie and it will tell you which streaming platform has them.

I'd like to see 'Once Upon a Time In Hollywood' but it doesn't seem to be on Netflix. I see it's on Cinema Paradiso!

Also would like to see 'Phil Spector' (the movie with Al Pacino and Helen Mirren). Not sure if that can be found anywhere.

Once upon a time in Hollywood is still on Netflix.

In the heat of the night with Sidney Poitier and Rod Steiger, brilliant film, got it on DVD once but can’t find it now, can’t see it elsewhere.

There are lots of old films on YouTube

All three are an available to stream or buy if you want to pay Chestnut, either NowTV, or Amazon.

Thank you littleannie for suggesting YouTube. I have just found the film Deadly Pursuit that I want to watch for the 3rd time 👍

In the heat of the night is on iPlayer Babs03, go to Films on the menu page, and scroll to the bottom, to View Films A-Z. They have lots of good films on there.

Yes, In the Heat of the Night is a brilliant film. It was on BBC 1 very late on Monday night. (I know because I had a bug and couldn’t go to bed 🫤) There are definitely a lot of classics on I player, and two are shown most Saturdays on BBC 2
Amazon Prime have a lot, but you may have to buy or rent them. That’s the joy of this new TV world! I remember scrolling through The Radio Times all year looking for my favourite film ‘Meet Me in St Louis’ and my father in law had a new fangled Beta Max recorder. He would tape it for me and I’d go round and watch it. How times have changed!

Mine too, TwiceAsNice! I adored him! I also loved him in “In the heat of the night”. Another wonderful film of his is “Guess who’s coming to dinner”.
They don’t make films, or men, like that any more, more’s the pity, although I do rather like Denzel Washington.
I think nearly all the male actors I have liked have been black.

I echo some of the choices here - particularly A Kind of Loving and This Sporting Life.

I would also like to see:

Once Around (Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter)
Starman (Jeff Bridges)

|I rarely go to the cinema now but when the trailers for new films come on, they all seem to be Hollywood-type blockbusters with lots of CGI and nothing like real life.

Holiday Inn - Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire

Thank you NanKate. If you put 'Classic films' in search on YouTube it comes up with lots. Also there are lots of old TV drama series. Remember Shoestring and A Horseman Riding By? Some of them have had subtitles added (they describe them as CC), but I think they are AI generated so they can be a bit weird! I recently enjoyed Longitude with Michael Gambon which was originally shown on BBC.
