Have you been back to the cinema yet?

I can’t imagine wanting to be in an enclosed space until the number of infected people is very much lower than at present.
Still I’m glad you enjoyed the film Ealdemodor.

I was in my local cinema last week with my 11 year old grandson and again today with his 8 year old brother. The COVID spacing and cleaning protocols have been kept in place, people wore masks except when eating or drinking and I felt far more confident than when in a shop.

Both films were directed at young children and in my view were absolutely dire, but the small people with me enjoyed them. Croods 2 and SpaceJam.

Glad you enjoyed your film Ealdemodor. It's not something I used to do very often to be honest so really in no hurry to go back.

I ve been back a few times (three I think)
espee it’s probably a lot safer than going to the shops or public transport, there are very few allowed in at a time the seats are taped off so there is no one near you You are only allowed one in one out of the loos, everything is cleaned down and you keep your mask on Very strict
The problem is there’s not a lot of decent films showing and no atmosphere but definitely better than nothing

I agree it feels safe. I’ve been a couple of times with GC and am going again this week.

I have been a couple of times and thought it was absolutely fine covid wise, it was nice but cant say I have missed it too much.

I read a review of Matt Damon's new film and thought I would like to see it, so may be time to venture back. We have a fairly newly opened Everyman in on our town. I always enjoyed going to the cinema if the film was worth it.

I wouldn't say I've missed it madly, I did enjoy taking my granddaughter to the cinema, I'm sorry to have missed Peter Rabbit, I know how much we enjoyed seeing the first one together and now grandson is old enough to join us too. Maybe I'll force them to go again when they are next with us!

Yes last week, back to normal seating, no masks mandatory although staff were masked and about 1/3 of audience.

Yes, several times; the latest being on Friday evening. It felt perfectly safe and I had no qualms about it. The film was rubbish though!

TerriBull Peter Rabbit 2 wasn't, in my opinion, as good as the first one but the GC enjoyed it. It will be out on DVD soon I expect!

Booked to see 'The Father' with Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Coleman later this month. Cinema is a private one with no popcorn, huge drinks, hot dogs or sweets on sale. Bliss! Very civilised, has a bar, seats round tables downstairs, theatre style upstairs.

No I haven’t,yet. They have put us into a really harsh lockdown again so everything is shut. Really, really ‘over’ it!

Everything you said also applies to me. I feel safer in the cinema than a supermarket. I saw Croods 2 last week with my grandson and SpaceJam is this week with 3 grandchildren. As another post said the cinema is much quieter than it used to be. I am sure people will get back to it if numbers continue to fall. Also, sat in the dark is the only place I can eat a whole bag of sweets without anyone else noticing.

Yes, went to see Black Widow with grandson, booked allocated seats. Not multinational Cinema, but local one, only about 10 people , well spaced out in large area. . Would not go now though as school holidays on. His school broke up week before the others.

I took my 9 year old GD to see The Croods 2 accompanied by large popcorn and chewy fruity sweets ? We showed her The Croods (1st one) that we’d saved on the TV from Christmas and she - and we, enjoyed that ( not too syrupy and disneyfied ) so that was how we decided. Our Showcase cinema is very airy and massive choice of seating. I suppose when the latest James Bond finally arrives it will be packed especially Saturday nights

I think it's perfect ok.
Aircon, space between customers, one way in another out.
Much better than the shops i think.
But we all have to judge the health risks for ourselves, so I can understand why some are biding their time.

I went a few Fridays ago, was very Covid friendly, but I did feel hot in my mask.

We are keen to go back to the cinema but nothing on we want to see yet. DH thought I might like the Jojo Moyes film so he went to book it and there were only five other seats booked so not full of infected people I think. However, I dont enjoy her books so that wasn't for me.
In former times we went to the cinema every month usually in the morning and there were often only a few other couples. It was a large new cinema with very efficient air conditioning so I always took a coat.
I very much look forward to getting back to a regular trip to the cinema. Hopefully there are several more films due for release including the latest James Bond.

Not been to the cinema but have visited the theatre recently. It was fine. Lots of space between seats and everyone in the audience, as far as I could tell, wore masks.

Yes, we’ve seen In the Heights and The Father, and enjoyed both. The only thing stopping us going again is that there’s not much on we fancy.

The Father was excellent. Though we went on Father’s Day and I had to warn DH that it wouldn’t be a happy watch for his special day.
