So, fellow fans, what do we think of the lineup? A very mixed bunch, personally only know of five, I’m sure we will soon have our favourites. Can’t wait for the glitz and glamour to brighten the long dark nights looming?

Grannynannywanny

I sat down looking forward to it starting and fell asleep and missed the entire show. I can’t believe I slept so long and I’m so disappointed! My Virgin box would normally have recorded it but it’s been out of order for 3 days. Sounds like I missed a great show ?

Do you have iPlayer Grannynannywanny? You can watch it there. smile

I watched John carefully tonight and think he made a mistake dancing with a male partner; did he have a choice?
Johannes has begun to mince about and posture, which he didn't do originally. I would like to see John dance with a female partner because she would complement his dancing technique without upstaging him.

Rhys and Nancy: fantastic; what a performance.
Rose and G, lovely and I liked Grandma.
AJ, what a shame but her legs were ungainly from the start and I didn't like the dance.
Dan doesn't suffer nerves, apparently which explains the lack of emotion in his dancing.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-Dec-21 20:06:40

Yes Sweetpeasue, I'd like Rhys, AJ & Rose in the final.... and really I'd like them all to win!

Sweetpeasue Sat 04-Dec-21 19:54:53

I absolutely loved the routines tonight.
Rhys had the natural talent from day 1, I felt, and it all came together for him tonight. It was mesmerising, I held my breath!
Rose was gorgeous and elegant as ever. Enchanting.
I really saw the split between Joanne's and John's dancing tonight. It didn't feel special this time somehow.
AJ's dancing is amazing and it was such a shame about the mistakes. But she owns the floor and is so incredible.
Dan---well yes--he's improved from week 1, but should have gone ages ago.
I'd like in the final Rhys, AJ and Rose.

My goodness! Rhys was electrifying!! I couldn't take my eyes off him, and think I'll re-watch it several times. The choreography was amazing. I am definitely voting for him.

Yes, poor AJ. She has such amazing talent. As Kim19 says, I'm sure she will be signed up by theatre producers.

That launch into space that Rose did!! Wow! Such a leap of faith.

What a difference a week makes! Rhys and Nancy were brilliant, I loved it. John and Johannas very good. Felt sorry for AJ this week, just didn't come together at all.

I wish we still had Adam. Dan to go.

TillyTrotter Sat 04-Dec-21 19:37:26

Poor AJ, I bet her earlier rehearsal was so much closer to the perfect dance she wanted to do. ?

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Dec-21 19:27:01

I'm tired of Craig being booed for making very good dancing points. He's not a pantomime villain here. His critical comments are to help the dancer improve. It's interesting that it's some of the pro dancers who are the worst offenders.

Mollygo Sat 04-Dec-21 19:26:02

Rhys was so good this week. Fingers crossed.

Alegrias1 Sat 04-Dec-21 19:05:44

I'm not a fan of Rhys but that was amazing ?

Sweetpeasue Sat 04-Dec-21 19:05:37

I just knew Rhys had it in him. Electric is spot on Josianne!

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Dec-21 19:04:47

It would be criminal if Rhys goes out this week after that stupendous Argentine Tango

Josianne Sat 04-Dec-21 19:04:12

Rhys and Nancy, electric!

Josianne Sat 04-Dec-21 18:36:21

I wonder who will be dancing first? I always feel that the first couple is at a disadvantage, a) in terms of nerves and b) in terms of the marks (judges maybe holding back a bit).

Kim19 Sat 04-Dec-21 18:36:15

I'd like to see AJ win. She is so able, versatile and humble. Either way, I think the Andrew Lloyd Webbers of this world will soon scoop her up if they haven't approached already. Very much looking forward to tonight's show. Only five minutes......yippee!

Sparklefizz Sat 04-Dec-21 16:28:21

eazybee Dan will need to keep repeating how much he loves his wife this week as there's an article in today's papers that Nadya is "his rock" and that they are "very close". It's probably just rubbish but can't be pleasant for his wife to hear.

I always thought Louise Minchin carried him for months after he first joined breakfast. He was always making mistakes and laughing it off and she had to sort it out.

I thought he was ok when he first appeared on Strictly but now he seems to be getting rather smug and I don't like him. I didn't like it that when the media suggested he should voluntarily leave, he made a point of saying "See you in the quarter final". I think you're right - he is believing his own publicity. He definitely doesn't deserve to get through tonight.

eazybee Sat 04-Dec-21 15:57:38

I wonder more why Dan has such a large following?
I found him arrogant and entitled when he joined Breakfast, insisting in having the chief presenter's chair instead of the vastly more experienced Louise Minchin, , then taking off to cover the Olympics, replacing more experienced presenters; refusing to work on Sunday mornings because he is a Christian, but apparently happy to go along with the lie that he is appearing on Sunday night, ( there may be a few people who don't know the truth) and finally his increasing smugness as he continues to be 'voted' in week after week. Last week's performance was very poor but clearly he believes his own publicity.
I think he will go through to the finals although definitely not worthy of a place.
Final bitch: I also wonder why he finds it so necessary to repeatedly tell everyone how much he loves his wife.

Hellogirl1 Sat 04-Dec-21 15:41:02

It`s Nancy`s second year in Strictly, but her first as a mentor. We saw her in Burn the Floor in Grimsby, along with Kevin Clifton and Grazziano de Prima.

Josianne Sat 04-Dec-21 15:29:23

I had a quick read up about Rhys. Apparently he is a presenter on CBBC, Blue Peter and Newsround. He is also an ambassador for a children's mental health charity in schools.
Impressive stuff, but probably not on the radar of the Strictly voting public.

lavenderzen Sat 04-Dec-21 15:28:47

Looking forward to tonight. I think its a bit earlier, 6.40. Can't wait to see who does what.

Grandmabatty Sat 04-Dec-21 15:23:16

I think Rhys might go this week. I think Dan has worked hard, seems a personable chap but isn't at the same level as the others.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-Dec-21 15:04:33

I'd like to see Rose or AJ win but I very definitely don't want to see Dan go on any further.

Charleygirl5 Sat 04-Dec-21 14:17:11

I am possibly in the minority but I would like to see John and Johannes win. I am hoping the last three will be Rose, AJ and John. I do like to watch Rhys but I have a feeling he does not have the public vote. I still do not know who he is and it is Nancy's first time on Strictly, (I think).

There was talk online of Dan bowing out but I have seen no evidence of that. He has worked hard but the rest are streets ahead of him.

Sparklefizz Sat 04-Dec-21 13:41:17

I agree Josianne .... and why should the rest of us have to avoid any discussions in case we come across the results in this thread?
