We do, every year, sadly much toned down but still a landmark in the year.

This year we're at home, instead of the caravan, so I can sing along with gusto (er he always sings out of tune, that gusto)

Will you watch - and sing?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Sept-21 18:33:34

Yes

dragonfly46 Sat 11-Sept-21 18:34:24

Never have, so won’t start now I guess, doesn’t interest me

MissAdventure Sat 11-Sept-21 18:47:48

What time and channel, please?
I haven't watched for years, but used to really enjoy it.

LauraNorder Sat 11-Sept-21 18:47:50

Always, and yes we will sing along.

I don’t think I’ll be able to face it this year without DH.

MissAdventure Sat 11-Sept-21 18:51:45

Ah, how sad, but I know how you feel.
Sometimes even joyful music makes me too sad these days.

LauraNorder Sat 11-Sept-21 18:54:18

No, we’ll be watching Raducanu in the tennis, not really our thing. But I hope it’s enjoyable for those who watch

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Sept-21 18:58:17

Thank you MrsPickle

LauraNorder Sat 11-Sept-21 19:00:15

We will watch the tennis and record the Proms

MissAdventure Sat 11-Sept-21 20:05:22

I've just put it on, and the conductor looks like Piers Morgan.

I shall be watching. I was able to go to the Last Night several times in the 60s and it was always a wonderful party.

Grandma70s Sat 11-Sept-21 20:35:30

People often don’t realise that it’s only the last bit of the Last Night that is a singalong party. Before that it’s a normal serious concert. I’m watching it. Emma hasn’t started yet. When she does I’ll probably flick back and forth between the two..

Hellogirl1 Sat 11-Sept-21 20:55:37

I always watch The Last Night, love it. I also love the Albert Hall. Has anyone here been to the Classical Spectaculars at the Albert Hall? I`ve been 3 times, hoping to go again.

Get Gareth Malone- all edgy in his trainers and no socks!

MissAdventure Sat 11-Sept-21 21:08:28

I'm off to put a colander on my head. smile

MayBeMaw Sat 11-Sept-21 21:09:36

To get the same hairstyle?

Ashcombe Sat 11-Sept-21 21:10:56

I've just put it on, and the conductor looks like Piers Morgan.

Poor chap!

MayBeMaw Sat 11-Sept-21 21:12:29

Come off it - no he doesn’t.
But I was surprised to see James Corden masquerading as a Heldentenor in the first half
gringrin

MissAdventure Sat 11-Sept-21 21:12:34

He has a touch of the David Walliams, to soften the look.
