Freda and the implants for Aled. Now she has kidnapped the little chap to stop the operation. She comes over as the most impossibly selfish woman and I have no sympathy for her. One storyline that has disappointed.

Is Curtis really ill or are we being led up the garden path. This question along with the meaning of life is giving me sleepless nights ?

Doodledog Wed 10-Nov-21 17:07:44

I've wondered that, along with whether he is really a trainee doctor. Surely the very basic anatomy questions that Emma was asking him aren't going to be on a real exam on a Medical degree?

NotTooOld Wed 10-Nov-21 17:24:24

I think Daniel is the sexiest man on Coronation Street, too. Bit bizarre that he is also gay - in real life, I mean. Summer is definitely going to get hurt, I'm afraid, but not sure Daisy will get her heart's desire, either. I think someone else will come along for Daniel.

As for Curtis, yes, something peculiar there. I did read somewhere that he is the son of the bloke murdered by Tracy. Can't remember his name but he was a builder, I think.
The money that Steve has is the fund for Oliver, so he shouldn't be spending it on Curtis.

Calendargirl Wed 10-Nov-21 18:04:21

The builder murdered by Tracy was Charlie, can’t remember surname.

I thought Steve said last night that he couldn’t use Oliver’s fund money, so would use his savings. I agree, where has he got savings from? Did he sell some property/cab office/florist shop to dastardly but dishy Ray Crosby?

I seem to have lost track somewhat.

Calendargirl Wed 10-Nov-21 20:57:05

Oh dear, poor Summer!

Love hurts.

sad

BlueBelle Wed 10-Nov-21 22:08:59

No the money wasn’t Oliver’s fund steve said he couldn’t use that It s some savings he had !
I don’t find Daniel sexy he’s not bad but not up there for me
Poor Summer when she said she was free with that excited hopeful face and he said ‘to babysit’ bless her

Namsnanny Wed 10-Nov-21 22:16:27

I cant remember the actors name who played Charlie, but I do remember I thought he was good at the time, and I was sorry they killed him off.

I agree Ronnie has a lovely face, but I find his bulging biceps a turn off.

I'm often loosing track these days Calendargirl grin The storylines are too similar to others just a couple of months apart.

I've just caught up with this, and yes - my heart went out to her.

The young residents aren't having a good time just now, are they? I hope life starts looking up for them soon.

Tonight for the first time Dev spoke to his son in a normal manner, without incredibly exaggerated vocal gymnastics. He has become so annoying that I was beginning to wish a tram crash, gun wielding madperson, sinkhole - anything - would 'take him out' and save viewers having to listen to the strange manner in which he delivers his lines. Let us hope this is a new beginning!

humptydumpty Wed 10-Nov-21 22:48:54

DD thinks Dev sounds permanently drunk!

Doodledog Wed 10-Nov-21 23:11:19

Dev's way of speaking is unlike anyone I've ever heard in real life or on screen.

I agree that it's annoying, and it makes it impossible to suspend disbelief and forget that you are watching a drama - I find none of his storylines credible. It's a shame though, as Asha and Aadi are growing into their roles, and are both good actors.

Grannynannywanny Wed 10-Nov-21 23:41:56

I find Dev’s speech incoherent at times in almost every episode. I sometimes rewind the tv and turn the volume up and listen again. But, I’m usually none the wiser. Maybe I need a hearing test.

BlueBelle Thu 11-Nov-21 06:21:44

I don’t find Devs speech hard to hear (unfortunately) it’s that long and whining ‘Honey’ that really grates on me ,he’s been in it so long and I can’t remember him always being so whinny in the older days

lemsip Thu 11-Nov-21 06:46:36

Bill Ward was the actor who played 'charlie' murdered by 'tracy' went on to act in emmerdale before being killed off again

Calendargirl Thu 11-Nov-21 06:50:21

Do most dads call their sons “honey”?

Their daughters maybe,

Perhaps I’m being sexist though.

BlueBelle Thu 11-Nov-21 07:31:24

Never heard a boy called Honey except poor Adi calandergirl

sodapop Thu 11-Nov-21 08:25:27

I agree Rosina Dev was much more believable last night when he was talking to Adi.

pensionpat Thu 11-Nov-21 08:39:49

Charlie Stubbs was the builder. Steve would have had over his fund-raising cash to the official charity surely. I think this will come to a climax at Christmas. The younger cast members are better actors than the older ones.

Franbern Thu 11-Nov-21 14:22:19

I definitely agree that the younger cast members are all (one exception being Jack ) out acting the older ones.
Also agree that there is something very dodgy about Curtis.
Is Fitz now going to get jealous that Tyrone is dating someone else, just as he was so jealous when she was dating?
Nice to see the occasional happy returns of some of the couple, getting back together. We need good news stories in our soaps these days more than ever.

honeyrose Thu 11-Nov-21 19:10:37

I too think there’s something dodgy about Curtis. Not quite sure what.
Dev has always had that ridiculous way of speaking, even in the Sunita days, but it’s even more pronounced now. When he called Adie “honey” (several times) I could scream. Ronnie’s career (if he has one) is a complete mystery, unless he’s really the Incredible Hulk. I think one day he’ll turn green and burst out of that tight fitting shirt. I do find Daniel quite a looker, along with Imran and Curtis.

Rosina Thu 11-Nov-21 22:06:44

Yes - I do wish that wardrobe would put Ronnie into something that fits; poor man, his clothes look as if they are about to explode and the strange grey jacket he wears is straining across the chest and has shoulder seams that are on his upper arms.

Namsnanny Fri 12-Nov-21 00:08:07

Thats the fashion now Rosina! Its the same with short sleeved shirts. They look as if they would cut the circulation off in their biceps grin.
I would find it very uncomfortable. I dont like the look either.

Aveline Fri 12-Nov-21 20:25:58

Well Peter's the picture of health isn't he? What a wonderful recovery he's made. Looks like he's been on a Caribbean holiday without Carla!

Urmstongran Fri 12-Nov-21 20:49:20

I’ve not watched Corrie for YEARS.
I remember these 3 in the snug at the Rovers Return.
Ena Sharples, Minnie Caldwell and Martha Longhurst - on our old black & white tv when I was at junior school.

I recall getting a jigsaw puzzle (in colour!) one Christmas of this scene.

I also remember Annie (posh) and Jack (kindly) Walker.
Arthur Swindley.
Albert Tatlock (grumpy).

Gentler times indeed.

Aveline Fri 12-Nov-21 21:06:48

Valerie Barlow though. A nasty end. It wasn't all milk stout in the snug!
