Freda and the implants for Aled. Now she has kidnapped the little chap to stop the operation. She comes over as the most impossibly selfish woman and I have no sympathy for her. One storyline that has disappointed.

nadateturbe Wed 20-Oct-21 06:41:28

Big coincidence Calendargirl.

I actually laughed at rhe Abi-Corey scene in the Platts garden.

Aveline Wed 20-Oct-21 06:49:51

They were in the 'Housr of Horrors'. The sink holes are opening all over the place. Where next?

BlueBelle Wed 20-Oct-21 07:23:05

I usually enjoy Corrie as my link with Yorkshire but their latest offering is beyond ridiculous. Did everyone just throw a disaster idea into the pot and they went with all of them. Will we wake up and find it's all been a nightmare. No points from me Corrie. sad

Grannynannywanny Wed 20-Oct-21 10:18:37

Abi skulking around in the little red riding hood cape was hilarious. She has surely earned a theatre part when panto season starts for Christmas.

Likewise Harvey, he was every inch the panto villain when he emerged from the overturned prison van.

Doodledog Wed 20-Oct-21 14:01:51

Panto is where a lot of ex soap stars end up, though.

Interestingly, the Baileys - everyone's least favourite family - weren't involved, so it looks like they will survive the cull.

Will Mellor was on TV the other day, and said that he was only in Corrie for a short, defined role, so either his number is up or he's heading back to prison.

I'd rather see Dev go than either of the twins, and whilst Kevin hasn't had any decent storylines for a while he's one of the few remaining 'traditional' characters (working class 'blokey' man who's lived there for decades).

There are so few left - the street is now populated by factory and other business owners, solicitors, social workers, teachers etc. What with the middle classes and the criminals, it's a far cry from the original 'slice of life' drama that it used to be.

Maggiemaybe Wed 20-Oct-21 14:12:57

The Baileys aren’t my least favourite family - I think a black family’s well overdue in Corrie and I’ve got to quite like the characters. What they need is some decent storylines, but I think that applies to everyone at the moment.

Doodledog Wed 20-Oct-21 14:33:45

I think their acting skills leave a lot to be desired. It may be that having a black family is overdue but IMO having a black family with poor actors and weak characters isn't the answer.

Maggiemaybe Wed 20-Oct-21 14:54:49

I don’t think they’re such bad actors either. They took a while to settle in, but they’ve grown on me. I can certainly think of worse in Corrie that have got away with it for years - Dev, Leanne, Claudia, for starters. But we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that - I think I’m in the minority anyway. smile

Doodledog Wed 20-Oct-21 14:58:21

Dev is by far the worst, I agree, and Claudia was pretty dreadful too?. I don't mind Leanne, but we can definitely agree to agree on the other two.

Maggiemaybe Wed 20-Oct-21 15:08:56

Well in the name of Corrie fans harmony, I will admit that Ed Bailey is way over-acted, though I think he’s toning it down a bit now. I really like Aggie - I could see her being one of the long-running strong Corrie women, if they give her a proper storyline to work with.

HurdyGurdy Wed 20-Oct-21 15:17:57

Oh well, I'm obviously much more easily pleased than the rest if you, as I was thoroughly entertained by Corrie. Even if I did tut and roll my eyes at how far fetched it was.

I constantly remind myself that it is a soap and not a documentary and how boring would it be to watch characters sitting sipping tea whilst getting on with their knitting.

Sarnia Wed 20-Oct-21 15:32:06

Bernie is very believable for me. She has been around the block a few times, has lived on the edge and always has her eye out for making a quick quid.

Grannynannywanny Wed 20-Oct-21 15:50:00

Anyone a fan of Emmerdale? It’s a week of high drama and possible cast culling there as well.

Aveline Wed 20-Oct-21 16:01:09

Stop slagging Dev everyone! He's my pin up!

nadateturbe Wed 20-Oct-21 17:32:03

Aveline

They were in the 'Housr of Horrors'. The sink holes are opening all over the place. Where next?

I didn't realise that. My attention obviously wandered...

Doodledog Wed 20-Oct-21 20:44:35

Tonight's episodes have been quite tense! I was on the edge of my seat when Roy was assisting Abi.

Calendargirl Wed 20-Oct-21 20:49:05

Thank goodness Roy’s coat was obviously made of sturdy, Made In Britain fabric, not cheap, imported, shoddy stuff. Anything else would have ripped under the strain of hauling two people from a watery grave.

And as for Roy! Well, look no further for the next James Bond! Super strong, eloquent and masterful under pressure.

What a guy!

vegansrock Wed 20-Oct-21 20:50:01

Just when you thought it couldn’t get more ridiculous……..

Bridie22 Wed 20-Oct-21 20:51:04

Happy Harvey is down t'hole,

Doodledog Wed 20-Oct-21 20:55:21

Oh, it is getting daft now. A man with MS climbing down a mineshaft, or whatever the sinkhole used to be.

It will end in tears, I tell you . . .

Bridie22 Wed 20-Oct-21 20:56:02

Oops he is out ?
