Delighted to see the return of one of my favourite programmes tonight at 9pm. I love watching their life on the farm. The children are wonderful.

This is their statement:

"With the TV show and the books we've always aimed to show the reality of life on the farm, and just like any marriage we have our stresses and strains, coupled with all the complexities of what we do on the farm and bringing up nine kids.
"We're a normal family and we've never said our marriage is perfect.
"Unfortunately the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we're going through.
"We ask that the media respect our privacy as we work through this."

Sounds a reasonable request.

Just seen this thread is from the 13th October why is it so late, not up to date I would say, with the latest developments.

I was extremely sorry to see that they bred from an 11 year old bitch. It’d appalling.

Its a really "feel good" programe long may it last.

“ Unfortunately the constant intrusion into our lives from the media has amplified a rocky patch that we're going through.”

Hmmm. Maybe decide to not make any more programmes or appearances ? Just a thought.

What a lovely programme and what a wonderful way to bring up their children no sitting in front of a screen day and night.

kwest Thu 28-Oct-21 11:05:22

I love this programme.

Theoddbird Thu 28-Oct-21 11:05:45

A lovely family

Kamj Thu 28-Oct-21 11:17:27

I used to love this programme but i feel its become false now, to 'celebrity'... reading between the lines i dont believe its as idyllic as made out.
Also the fact Clive has 11 children but they're never mentioned seems sad too.
I grew up on a farm and whilst it was an amazing upbringing parts were hard going.

Happysexagenarian Thu 28-Oct-21 11:29:54

I think it's a lovely heartwarming but realistic program and they're a great family. I really hope Amanda & Clive can work through their problems successfully. Perhaps the popularity of the program, and the growing demands made on their time by the media and personal appearances, is exacerbating any problems they may have. I hope the press will leave them alone to sort themselves out in private.

NotTooOld

I saw that on the internet, too. It said Mrs O is living at their rental property. Might be true, might not be true, but it was there for anyone to read.

I’ve not heard or read this. Very sad if it’s true.

Casdon Thu 28-Oct-21 11:33:25

Why would they mention Clive’s adult children Kamj, they are in their thirties aren’t they?

moggiek Thu 28-Oct-21 11:36:07

Bromley - I was horrified, too. Poor thing, to be having a litter at that age.

Kamj Thu 28-Oct-21 11:36:23

Casdon

Why would they mention Clive’s adult children Kamj, they are in their thirties aren’t they?

Why wouldnt they?

LovelyLady Thu 28-Oct-21 11:36:54

We don’t hear much about his children from his previous marriage.
So sad when divorce splits families.

Casdon Thu 28-Oct-21 11:41:12

Kamj because what we see is a snapshot of their lives, they don’t talk about anybody that they aren’t in direct contact with on the programme. That’s the way with all reality shows, it’s concentrated on what’s interesting to watch, not incidentals.

ClaraB Thu 28-Oct-21 11:41:24

It's a lovely programme. I order Amanda's lamb via this website thewensleydalebutcher.co.uk, it's delicious and so good to know where it comes from.

speedwaysue Thu 28-Oct-21 11:43:47

Exactly my thoughts Lucca!

Harris27 Thu 28-Oct-21 11:46:18

Just love it .life at its best.

magshard20 Thu 28-Oct-21 11:57:57

If they are experiencing difficulties in their marriage, that is their business, not ours and definitely not the Media, the Media hype everything up and blow a lot of things up to gigantic proportions.
Left alone they will sort things out their own way, and they will definitely make sure that all their children's lives are forefront in the discussions. I wish them both great futures xx

Thanks ClaraB for the info.

fluttERBY123 Thu 28-Oct-21 12:43:46

We watched the first series and loved it but now we find it a bit too scripted and we wonder how real it is. Sometimes the kids seem to not be familiar with things they do.

abby0950 Thu 28-Oct-21 12:51:32

Newspaper (Mail) has written that Amanda is living in their rental property which I didn’t see mentioned on the programme and has been for some time. Locals quoted as saying they knew about it ages ago. It will be a shame if all the attention and popularity of this family and their lifestyle has affected their personal lives. Clive apparently is devastated.

Juicylucy Thu 28-Oct-21 13:27:16

Speculation is that the attraction of fame and bright lights have got into her head and are the reason behind her decision. Hence magazine deals etc. Such a shame this soulless world gets to people.

Haydnpat Thu 28-Oct-21 13:38:56

I read yesterday they are having some problems and Amanda moved out several months ago
