Hooray! A new series of Shetland starts next Wednesday smile

Also it was ridiculous that Alison could have moved Rodgers' body, folded him up and packed it into the suitcase, and hefted that case into the boot of her car. The phrase "dead weight" comes to mind and if she managed that, she should be entering the weightlifting for the Olympics!

Oh yes, it wasn't a very large suitcase either, was it and he was quite a tall man. She obviously didn't chop him up either, no blood traces as far as I remember.

We enjoyed it, a large pinch of salt has to be taken with many fictional programs.

Who is going to replace Douglas? I have heard that Martin Compston is a possibility.

Yes, DH regularly asks me to stop pointing out discrepancies ?

He would be good

I didn't think this series was as good as previous ones. At times the script seemed stilted, I thought. The scenery, though, was fabulous as always.

MrsKen33 Thu 15-Sept-22 16:19:37

When these series leave the original books behind, they sort of lose their impetus. Sadly.

Pittcity Thu 15-Sept-22 16:51:29

I said that it was "her off of EastEnders" at the very beginning....

Alioop Thu 15-Sept-22 20:46:45

Oh I do love a Scottish accent. I'll have Dougry Scott as Perez replacement please.

I didn't know she was off Eastenders

But yes, we collaborated on the script Pittcity!

It just couldn't have been him off Casualty ?

Agree.

I enjoyed the series.

I did think that Dougie Henshall had gone a bit to seed and aged since the last series. I know he was meant to look harassed and tired. That sweater was rather unforgiving.

Hope we see him in other series.

Luckygirl3 Thu 15-Sept-22 22:40:49

Yes - the sweater was indeed unforgiving. He needed at least one size bigger!

Glorianny Fri 16-Sept-22 11:22:39

Ooh a man with a bit of a belly! Heaven forbid! Are we getting just as critical of male bodies as we are of women's?

Dougie Henshall is great in the scary film "The Small Hand" It's a great ghost story.

paddyann54 Fri 16-Sept-22 11:28:02

nankate it wouldn't have suited the storyline if he had been full of the joys and looking dapper .I thought...and its only my opinion that he did a great job of the story looked the part and acted it well.He WAS a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders ,scared to take a chance at happiness and sticking with his principles.
It wouldn't have worked for me if he had been a James Bond type .

Parsley3 Fri 16-Sept-22 13:18:01

I agree ^paddyann*. I knew it was the end for him when he said" I'm done!"

Parsley3 Fri 16-Sept-22 13:19:02

paddyann

Callistemon21 Fri 16-Sept-22 13:23:35

I agree with paddyann

Let's hope he gets his pension.

I like Rhona, she tough but has much more understanding than the other PF.

Marydoll Fri 16-Sept-22 13:28:49

Poor Dougie! Our bodies are so perfect, aren't they? ?

Luckygirl3 Fri 16-Sept-22 13:39:12

Absolutely!

I have to defend Dougie, because he is a local boy! ?

Callistemon21 Fri 16-Sept-22 14:42:33

I'd never criticise Dougie!! ?

NanKate Fri 16-Sept-22 17:00:21

If I have upset anyone on this thread with my comments apologies. ?

I didn’t expect him to look like James Bond it was just an observation. He’s a good actor.

Marydoll Fri 16-Sept-22 17:09:08

You certainly havent' upset me, Kate.
