Hello
Yes, he’s off to GBNews.

He’s said because of something to do freedom of speech, apparently.

Not sure if the word ‘w***’ has been mentioned.

What do we think then?

And some folk don't like being argued with grin.

Should presenters be allowed to say what they want, even if it's wrong, hateful and misleading?

You really don’t seem to be able to tolerate other views BlueBelle

Well said lemongrove. There’s a lot of that about on GN these days.

And some like to go further with their intolerances and press the report button. Silly sausages. We are adults after all. With different viewpoints which (mostly) ought to be allowed on a public forum.

Ah well, it takes all sorts.

I dont mind Farage because he winds up James O'Brian any one who can do that is ok in my book.

BlueBelle

*We like Farage*
Words fail me a more unlikeable man I cannot think of I d better get off this thread if it’s going to be honouring that man he must have had an complete personality change if he’s listening to people as I ve never heard a more bombastic shouty rude man in my life

You really don’t seem to be able to tolerate other views BlueBelle
Actually, on GB News Farage is anything but shouty.Presenting is obviously his forte.
Holmes has a relaxed style of presenting but I’ve never seen enough of him to know if he will be a draw for the programme or not.

Thanks Meryl! The op seems very thorough on the subject,
I’ll enjoy that, I’m sure

A bit of a dope sounds about right Riverwalk
He seemed half asleep when presenting on Talk Radio.
I think that he just read out what the producers gave him

Riverwalk Fri 12-Nov-21 08:37:14

I'd forgotten about GBnews - surprised they're still going.

I can understand some people liking Farage as a presenter, personally can't stand the man, but he's media-friendly. As for Holmes having gravitas - I don't think so, seems a bit of a dope the few times I've seen him.

MerylStreep Fri 12-Nov-21 08:35:53

I’m not bothered one way or the other about Eamonn Holmes but he was once a serious journalist and reporter. Then, he had to take the kings shilling to maintain his lifestyle.

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 08:34:15

Gnw they do strike me as a couple who will do pretty much anything for a bob or two

Tbh I started this thread because I thought that it might get some interest.
It’s this or dishcloths I’m afraid smile

I’ll trump your dishcloths with a teabag. ?

Gravitas isn’t a word that springs to mind when I think of Eamonn Holmes. Especially when I see him on that cringeworthy advert for the leg circulation booster device.

I don’t watch GB News and I am not that fond of Eamonn Holmes either, irritating man, so I shall not be watching!

lemsip Fri 12-Nov-21 08:26:27

he will be an asset to GB news which is flagging.
Eamonn Holmes OBE is an Irish broadcaster and former journalist from Northern Ireland.
presenting Sky News Sunrise for eleven years between 2005 and 2016.
He gets to the route of any subject.

Anniebach

Is this in the spirit of Gransnet ?

I think that Annie is referring to the reason given for the deletion of a thread about a certain Ms Markle
And yes, it was ‘woke’ (shudder)

Lilydrop Fri 12-Nov-21 08:24:33

I think w* means woke cant think what else it could mean?

MerylStreep Fri 12-Nov-21 08:22:29

Merlotgran
I think it’s Woke.

I love JOB. He’s like my radio brother.
we are exactly the same age and grew up in the same area - when he wasn’t at Amplethorpe wink

Whitewavemark2 Fri 12-Nov-21 08:11:34

You judge people by the friends they keep.

Farage has the sort of friends most thinking people are horrified at, like white supremicists, fraudsters and Nazi sympathisers.
