Hello
Yes, he’s off to GBNews.

He’s said because of something to do freedom of speech, apparently.

Not sure if the word ‘w***’ has been mentioned.

What do we think then?

BBbevan Fri 12-Nov-21 04:51:20

I think I shall not bother .

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 05:23:00

I think that you’re in the majority there Bbb

I dont watch any of the programmes but I get where he is coming from with all the new pcs changing nearly every day. You cant open your mouth these days with out causing affence.

Allsorts Fri 12-Nov-21 07:14:42

I don’t watch him.

We like Farage at 7pm after the news bulletin. We are often eating at that time. He talks a lot of sense and is happy to interview people with a different viewpoint. Experts too! Plus he does listen. He’s polite, doesn’t interrupt and allows them a proper platform.

Holmes is a presenter with some gravitas. He is a consummate professional. GBNews will be glad to have him on board.

Opps offence I meant.

Maudi Fri 12-Nov-21 07:35:34

I can't say I am over keen on Eamonn Holmes but good for him. I like GBnews and I watched Nigel Farage yesterday when he was in Sunderland and found it really interesting.

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 07:35:38

I wish that I could link, but much of Holmes’ move is due to him asserting that anti vaccine views about 5G should be allowed to be heard
This didn’t go down well with the makers of This Morning

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 07:37:19

I’ve listened to him a few times when he was on Talk Radio a couple of years ago.
I found him the most boring speech broadcaster I have ever heard.
I can’t understand why he has such a good reputation

Maudi Fri 12-Nov-21 07:37:43

Yes Fanny Cornforth at least on GBnews presenters are allowed to say what they think.

Marydoll Fri 12-Nov-21 07:38:06

Funnily enough, DH and I were discussing Eamonn Holmes last night, we don't rate him at all, I'm afraid.
We have more admiration for his wife and her efforts at trying to diversify her career.

Agree with you there, too many people not willing to listen to all views, from across the spectrum.

Galaxy Fri 12-Nov-21 07:42:36

I havent heard EH say anything controversial in my life. Is this a new thing. He is very bland.

Galaxy Fri 12-Nov-21 07:46:57

Oh and I am.not sure how This Morning can take the moral high ground on conspiracy theorists when they gave a platform to a man protesting his innocence on child cruelty who months later killed that child.

Urmstongran Fri 12-Nov-21 07:51:39

Agree with you there, too many people not willing to listen to all views, from across the spectrum what I find Lincslass is that some stations invite them on then cut across them or talk over them if it doesn’t suit their narrative. At least Farage is polite, waits and listens.

Anyway this thread is about Holmes. I don’t watch him. I think he was on ITV and these “breakfast shows’ are a bit ‘magaziney’ for my tastes IYKWIM.

Urmstongran Fri 12-Nov-21 07:52:44

Oh that’s shocking Galaxy.

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 07:52:52

Galaxy good heavens, I hadn’t heard about that
I think that a lot of what goes on at ITV isn’t very savoury
There is such a lot of nepotism (I know that’s the wrong word, but you know what I mean).
They’re all got the same management company which seems all powerful, which is why a small group of presenters are so ubiquitous.

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 07:55:22

Urms I know that it is an extremely unpopular view, but I do agree with you about Farage as a presenter. He was always very good on LBC (prior to getting the sack).
He can present and knows his way around a studio, which is a much needed thing in GBN

Kandinsky Fri 12-Nov-21 08:00:33

Really like Nigel Farage and think he’s one of the few people left talking any sense.
Quite like Eamonn too so must watch GB news.

BlueBelle Fri 12-Nov-21 08:01:19

We like Farage
Words fail me a more unlikeable man I cannot think of I d better get off this thread if it’s going to be honouring that man he must have had an complete personality change if he’s listening to people as I ve never heard a more bombastic shouty rude man in my life

Alegrias1 Fri 12-Nov-21 08:06:22

Must admit I've never seen Farage presenting apart from a few minutes at the start of his tenure at GB News. But if he is good at presenting, that's good then, we can forgive him the fact that he's almost single handedly brought about the ruination of this country

I've seen Holmes though. TBH, gravitas isn't a quality I would have associated with him. I wonder if he'll be buddying up with the Coast Guy. His career's taken an odd turn.

FannyCornforth Fri 12-Nov-21 08:08:57

Alegrias I’m not forgiving Farage for anything. I don’t hold with his views or what he has done at all

Lilydrop Fri 12-Nov-21 08:09:56

I dont mind Farage because he winds up James O'Brian any one who can do that is ok in my book.
