I hadn’t noticed the Sewing Bees, Proffads. They’re definitely going on the list!

For me it's Anything Goes, a recording of the West End show with Robert Lindsay and Felicity Kendal. BBC2, Boxing Day.

Call the Midwife
All Creatures Great and Small
As a keen dressmaker/crafter, I can't wait for the Celebrity Sewing Bees (2). I would prefer the regular show but failing that the celeb one will do. There should be more sewing programs on TV, replacing some of the glut of cooking ones IMO. Paul O'Grady in All for the love of Dogs, naturally. Other than that it's the good old films. Oh and the Strong man comps, a guilty pleasure!
I will watch my own favourites, Love Actually and The Holiday, along with Call the Midwife. Hoping I’ll be with family as we have planned but sensing it will be me and DH in front telly
I think there’s a reasonable array of programmes on this year. Christmas Day isn’t looking great but we never watch TV on the day anyway. I will enjoy watching Shaun the Sheep and Superworm with the youngest GC’s. All Creatures Great and Small, Ghosts, The Mezzotint, Worzel Gumidge and A Very British Scandal will do me.
Royal Variety Performance!! did anybody see it? I had to turn it off it was such a low standard of 'entertainment'. Bruce Forsythe would be turning in his grave.
It opened with near pornography followed by some seriously bad jokes from Alan Carr about his mums cooking. Derr. Then a gay boy singing very very gayly. It didnt get any better and I was embarrased on behalf of William and Kate. What an insult to intelligence. What is happening to society that this dross has to be aired and an audience of smart looking people feel they have to make their mouths smile at this stuff. I feel open minded and like a laugh at a joke but this was below the belt. What do others think about it if anyone else took the time to watch?
Maybe my eyes are so dim that I cannot read the small print but I wonder why it is not regarded as mandatory for the dates that things were originally screened to be given
The price that a house was sold for 10 years ago is probably not very relevant today
Xmas tv this year, the same as every single one in the past decade or 3 is rubbish!
I've already switched my tv off and won't be turning it back on until at least 2nd Jan for fear of watching any of the crap and wasting time I'll never be able to get back
The Girl Before
Around the World in 80 days
The Amazing Mr Blunden (don't have sky but will try and get to see it somehow).
Ghosts Christmas special
One film I've seen loads of times but will watch again - Some Like it Hot.
Ros60 Thank you for reminder about The Tourist. A definite.
Tonight - it's Devon and Cornwall at Christmas
No clue whats even on..yes thats how busy we have been.??♀️ Not big TV watchers at the best of times. Might try and catch the Queens speech though and maybe some Carols. Other than that we will see on the day, something will capture our attention for sure...It is Christmas after all and you need something to snooze through don't you ?
A very British scandal , definitely
Death in Paradise, the Duchess of Argyle thing, any Art History stuff tucked away on BBC4.

I want to see Allegra Stratton again with a new round of questions!

Oh, and Count Arthur Strong, too.

Bought the Radio Times hoping to see something that grabs me but nothing In particular, with the exception of It’s a Wonderful LifeI usually listen to Radio 4 or 4 Extra during the day - anything that makes me laugh or think. I love Count Arthur Strong’s radio show 11:30 am Xmas Eve, Dead Ringers, Moominland Winter (Xmas Day), Ed Reardon’s Christmas week. Plus on Sounds 90 minute Mclevy with a Christmas theme, and, of course Fi and Jane’s Fortunately podcast. And this week InOur Time was an analysis of A Christmas Carol. I’ll have to see what’s on Talking Pictures TV but can’t stand all the ads. How many films have been made over the 100+years of cinema? And why do we just get the same old churn of a handful? I’m beginning to know the scripts. I shall watch Monsieur Houlot’s Holiday when I need something gentle and absurd. Happy watching, listening, reading, puzzling or whatever.
Thanks for that. I love, In Our Time but haven’t checked it out recently.
Have just ‘feasted my eyes on 14 days of festive TV ‘ in yesterday’s Guardian ( their words) and have to report there is nothing which stands out, apart from maybe Midwives.
Oh dear, that is disappointing. Will go through it again. The girl before looked good but though they say it’s not a repeat, I watched it on tv relatively recently.
Otherwise it’s more Netflix.
Can't believe no-one has mentioned "The Great Escape". Usually compulsory at Christmas!!
Loads, most of which we’ll record to watch when it suits. On terrestrial A Very British Scandal, Call the Midwife, All Creatures, The Girl Before, Around the World in 80 Days, Judy, Christmas at Liberty, Corrie, Christmas University Challenge. Don’t Look Up on Netflix. And a few films, old and new, including Last Christmas and Die Hard (which I’ve never seen).
Quite a lot of lovely programs, and I'm so pleased I bought a Humax recorder tv box

How I agree Ro we used to have to order the Christmas TV times and Radio Times and found lots to watch . There is nothing I am looking forward to seeing this year at all and I so wish there was as Christmas looks like it will be cancelled for us .
Yes, we used to enjoy happily ‘ticking’ anything we fancied watching in the radio times or tv times.
At the moment can’t think of anything I want to watch at all.
Just hoping our Christmas plans with family can still take place and I get a few books that I want to read.Am usually happier reading anyway.
Bad Santa and Benny Hill

Yes, I want to see this too, hope it's on Iplayer, because I will forget about it on Boxing Day! I missed it when it came to a cinema near me recently.
I shall watch the usual special Christmas shows of All Creatures Great and Small, also Ghosts, Worzel Gummidge, The Ghost Story for Christmas and maybe some favourite films.
I have no idea what's on over Christmas, though I doubt we'll have time to watch much if our AC and GC are able to visit. They have different tastes in entertainment to us, and our GC will either want to run DVDs or play board games with
us.
I've noticed Call the Midwife; Death in Paradise and All Creatures Great and Small mentioned here so we'll either record those or watch them on iPlayer after Christmas.
We generally prefer seasonal feel-good entertainment - Christmassy films, a good ghost story, old Disney cartoons, carol services etc - no quizzes, no news, no charity appeals, nothing depressing. We'll step back into the real world on the 27th.
For lovers of musicals, Boxing Day on BBC2 is looking pretty good.
Singing in the Rain followed by Some Like It Hot presumably followed by Anything Goes. That will suit me well.
