Don't Look Up, Netflix

I'm late to this thread, when this film was launched on Netflix didn't think it would be my cup of tea. Surprised myself when watching it last night how much I enjoyed it, thought it was a great satire. As others have stated nearly didn't recognise Mark Rylance as a sinister composite of a self serving Musk/Jobs/Zuckerberg/Bezos individual. Cate Blanchet played a wonderful talk show host reducing the most serious of issues to chatty facile nonsense whilst oozing glamour and insincerity. Leo was superb as the nerdy academic scientist. Very good cast, as well as those mentioned Meryl Streep and Jennifer Lawrence. Well worth a watch if you haven't already seen it.

I must be the odd one out here - I was distinctly underwhelmed by it.

I watched this yesterday and loved it. Thought there were lots of comedic lines and quite a few laugh-out-loud moments. A bit too close to home in parts though. Agree you need to stick with it and not give up in first half hour.

I watched it and enjoyed it too. I wanted to smack the President and her son. Good acting. Love Leo.

Watched it last night and loved it. Very satirical but also funny. I laughed out loud at some of the jokes “interrupting this programme to bring you a newsflash” the programme being “Jackpot Fiancé”. I assume that was a nod to the Love Island, Married at First Sight type programmes. Great cast, great film.

He's such a good actor Jane43 that it takes time to realise it's him.

He has been one of my favourite actors since Wolf Hall and he was amazing in Bridge Of Spies and The Trial Of The Chicago Seven.

Watched the last hour when I came downstairs to find OH and his son watching. It was satirical and quite funny I thought. Enjoyed it.

I watched it last night too and loved it! Definitely shades of Rupert Murdock, Bezos and Zuckerburg.

I watched this yesterday evening, I hadn’t looked at the cast or read anything about the film beforehand so was unsure at first but I started to really enjoy watching it and thought it was very clever. If I had looked at the cast, which was stellar, I would have realised it was something special, I honestly didn’t realise that was Mark Rylance but I see it now, thanks Pittcity

So close to the truth and so glad Trump can't make these decisions any more!

I was looking forward to this but I too was disappointed. DH enjoyed it.

TOO close!

Apologies - I do realise its satirical intentions but in parts it came almost to close to the possible, for example where a big business exercised undue influence over what should be government decisions.

It is meant to be satirical I’ll watch it tomorrow.

I think it was satirical. Leonardo DiCaprio was really good, as were the rest of the cast. I enjoyed it

Watched it and enjoyed it. the suspense was well built up. What on earth made Ladyleftfieldlover think it was being played as a comedy? I wasn't laughing. The cast was excellent - de Caprio as good as ever.

I watched half of it and was disappointed . Such a great idea and a great cast but far too long and surely shouldn’t be a comedy. I looked up the ending.

We’re watching it just at the moment.

Gave up after about 15 minutes

I was going watch this after noon but I got led astray by ET I’ll watch tomorrow it looks good.
