Watched it earlier. Very moving and true to what life is about. 'Bad language'? As far as I'm concerned is part of life. 'After Life' and 'Derek' are brilliant observations of real life, warts 'n' all. Bad language? pah, that's life. Love it

Crude language may be part of your life but it's not part of mine. I was brought up in a non-swearing family and so were my children. It seems the F word turns up everywhere now, so I have to accept that or miss out on a lot of good drama. This series takes bad language to a new level, so again, we have to accept it or miss a good series.
People of today are so shocked when they see what we used to watch in the 1970s for instance. But the people around then would be a whole lot more shocked if they could see what we watch today.

Ricky Gervais once talked about ‘ that awkward third series’, I’m sure. So we binge watched last night, and enjoyed. The language was difficult, but very representative of how things are today. I would just say....to me....it’s worse the older the person using it is.

It did make me cry though, very thought provoking. I would have done something slightly different at the end, but don’t want to spoil it for those who haven’t watched.

I agree Shazzakanazza the last episode was very well done. Ricky Gervais is a great writer.
My OH and I were sharing the tissues. I will probably watch it again.

My DH and I loved the series and cried our eyes out last night at the last episode. Yes the language is very crude, never heard the C word used so much. Hated the two guys with the awful things they said. I love Ricky Gervais personally. We watch things like Inbetweeners and Plebs etc so it didn’t shock us. The ending was brilliant he wrapped it up very well.

Loved this as an exploration of grief. Felt the last episode really moving.

Binge watched the whole of series 3 yesterday & really disappointed actually.
Nothings changed?
Tony hasn’t moved on at all and it’s just same old same old. I know grief is all consuming and life is never the same for many, but it might have been nice to see Tony moving on in the grief process. It’s interesting that he can still manage to get up
& go to work everyday though.
And yes, the language is unnecessarily crude.
I enjoyed series one & Two but this latest series is a bit rubbish tbh.
Even Penelope Wilton can’t save it.

I disagree, I thought Tony did move on & he learned to live again and think about others instead of hoping that he would hurry up and die. I like the way they left it, it was very well done.

I'm not a massive fan of bad language either, but I can ignore it. In real life people do use it when they're upset and angry, so it would be stupidly unrealistic to have his character say something like "Alas, cruel fate!" or "you naughty person!" it's not a fairy tale.

Watched series 1 and 2, which we loved. Stumbled on this by accident last night, whilst browsing through NetFlix. It’s on our list.

Know what people mean by the language, but have become a bit desensitised to it of late.

Don’t really like Ricky Gervais, but he is talented. Enjoyed The Office, and Extras. Not Derrick, couldn’t get into that.

I think Stephen Merchant is showing himself to be a good actor, with a much more pleasant disposition than RV.

It wasn't really the swearing that I found offensive it was the 2 additional men,think they were friends with last series psychiatrist. Constant reference to abusive sex which just wasn't needed in the story. I could cope with the hoarder guy as he clearly had issues but the other 2 were supposed to being " laddish ". Didn't like them and nothing like real life people.

I was looking forward to series 3 but I'm with you Jaffa far too much crude language this time and why should anyone be labelled as a prude just because we object to it? What I object to is how it has become more and more acceptable for crude language to infiltrate into so many programmes now. Is it for realism? well I for one can do without it then, we seemed to get by just fine without it before

I liked series 1 and 2 but this time I am disappointed, so far. I am on episode 3. It is SO unnecessarily crude and rather boring and depressing. Makes me sound a prude, but I'm not.

Just binge watched series 3.as others have said I myself can relate to the story line,but not the language! Oh gosh! It was more like watching a sort if documentary, won't give anything away,but I think its run it's course now. But found it a real life situation.

I'm watching and loving. It's so well written, very moving. But I can't recommend it to my son. He would be horrified that his mum watches something with this language. I do think the language is a bit OTT but it won't stop me watching.

I'm binge watching just now. I watched seasons 1 and 2 during lockdown and found it very insightful and honest. I wasn't a fan of R.G , I didn't watch The Office, but I think this is on a different level. I don't like the language, or the creepy therapist in previous season, but there's still enough to keep me interested.

I've just finished it and as a fellow widow could really relate, I had a good cry.

I don't like swearing either but loved this.

I haven't watched this as I really don't like very crude language( Catholic upbringing )and really can't see that it would add anything.I know this seems prudish but it would make me uncomfortable.
I have read good reviews of this but don't think it is for me.

I loved series one but I really hated the language in series two and I don’t consider myself a pride. I will give it a try.

I am half way through and enjoying it. I have to spend a lot of time trying not to cry.
I also know that Ricky has a genuine love for animals as he is a supporter of the Romanian rescue charity our little dog came from.

I will definitely be watching it as I enjoyed the first two so much.

Saw him on Graham Norton show last night talking about the language and content. Agree with you Pittcity and he says as much on the show.

Watching it as we speak and in my eyes Ricky Gervais can do no wrong ?

I've watched the first 2 episodes and hope that Ricky Gervais' next project is Dr Barnaby Love MD.

There was a language and adult content warning. It's the type of programme that shows it as it is with its tongue firmly in its cheek. Without this I wouldn't be hooked!
