Did anyone else watch it?
Is anyone else confused?

The usual slightly dark, sometimes mumbled BBC production but spotting places we know was more interesting.

BlueBelle

See I can’t even get that right ???

??. It wasn’t the most straightforward of dramas I admit, but that what I loved.

Not surprising as young Chloë didn't have a fringe but adult Chloë did.
Young Becky had a fringe and looked like the older Chloë rather than older Becky who didn't have a fringe.

Are you still with me ?

Seeing to the end made it no clearer than stopping half way through though ???

I would ask what confused you....but don’t want to spoil it for others.

Oh, please do DiscoDancer; enlighten those of us who kept nodding off, please.
I think anyone who was interested has watched all episodes by now
And any spoilers couldn't make it worse than it was.

Finally got round to watching the final episode. As others have said, a total muddle to me. Far too dark. That off the shoulder dress she was wearing through most of the episode was rather unsuitable. I lost track of which keys she kept picking up.

It seemed a load of nonsense by the end, a pity really as it started off with promise.

‘ Chloe’ wasn’t in it much. Do you mean the actress who was really ‘Becky’?

BlueBelle Fri 25-Feb-22 18:18:39

DD most of it and according to this thread seemed the same for a lot of us It was pretty banal as a story and utterly confusing with all the messages being completely unreadable for me and the coming and going in time I can manage time jumps when the story line is clear and means something
this one seemed so woolly
On the plus side I think Chloe was a pretty decent actor and played the part well

Agreed, BlueBelle. I’m still in the dark, but I’ve moved on ?

Namsnanny Fri 25-Feb-22 17:26:45

I enjoyed it - all be it half heartedly.
I'm just bored with this type of story line, eg: mystery surrounds girl in a big house. Oh and throw in a dodgy love life.
I forget the end of all of them!??

I'm finding it intriguing though I'm still wondering about why she put wee into the whisky decanter, or did I imagine that? I mentioned it to a friend who'd been watching & she didn't remember that bit! It was about half way through episode 1. I'm assuming she steals clothes - she obviously nicked that beautiful flowery coat off the coat peg in the office in episode one and her gymn top and that flowery dress she wore to the party both had labels in. She'd either stolen them or was hoping to take them back. I'm hoping to hold out til Sunday for the next episode but feel a binge coming on...

She didn’t like the job, or her boss. If you remember, it was just a cover for someone on maternity leave. Not part of the plot, so don’t worry. It was really introducing her character I think, and what she was capable of.

Certainly see it to the end.

I loved it. Husband not so sure. For some reason it reminded me of ‘ Desperately Seeking Susan’. It was a bit unbelievable in places...but aren’t all dramas?

As for mumbling....apparently it’s deliberate in films and dramas. Supposed to make it more realistic! However, like real life, you find yourself shouting ‘ pardon, will you speak up, and face me when you do!’

Thank goodness for subtitles. I wish I had them for my husband ?.

Was she the original carer she banned from visiting?

Yes, thank you!

What worried me, with a dependent parent, who was going to pay the bloody home fees? The wad of notes she proffered may just about cover a fortnight.

The mysterious Christine Wright! ?

It was a very deserted nursing home! Is her mother the only person there?

Did I hear her tell the manager/receptionist whoever that Christine Wright would be visiting in future? I still don't know who Christine Wright is.

confused but don't care any more really!

Farzanah Tue 22-Feb-22 09:44:42

Well I watched the last episode last night and am more confused than ever.
Darkness, notes, phone messages?
Spoiler alert……
Did Ethan murder Chloe or did she just think he did? Were all the friends going along with the cover up to protect him and why did they let her infiltrate their gang if they knew she was an imposter? Was much of it in her imagination confused

I watched it all but have no memory of any of it.

Callistemon21 Mon 21-Feb-22 23:52:48

It was unrealistic no one could creep around in other people houses as she did
I was waiting for the squeaky stair
Every house must have at least one!

Kali2

What happened was clear- what happens next less so ?!?!

Well, I fell asleep towards the end of episode 5 so may have missed something but I didn't find it very clear.
Perhaps because they appear to have filmed much of it after power cuts!
Who was Christine Wright?
And I did keep trying to spot places I know too.

what happens next less so ?!?!
Does she go to London to be with Josh?

BrandyGran Mon 21-Feb-22 23:14:49

This drama intrigued me but I was unable to make out who was doing what in total darkness.
This is not good enough . We are paying a licence to watch not peer at the screen. It made me cross.
How come the sound quality and lighting are acceptable on dramas like Call the Midwife and Downton Abbey?
Is this supposed to be clever and modern?

BlueBelle Mon 21-Feb-22 22:34:04

Maybe to you kali but not to me To start with I missed half the story as I couldn’t read the phone messages and post it notes and cards/ hand written notes etc etc of which there were many
Secondly it seemed to go round and round in circles to come to one conclusion she was bullied in her marriage and tried to get away and either jumped or was pushed or accidentally fell They could have done that in one episode
It was unrealistic no one could creep around in other people houses as she did I know it’s fiction but there’s fiction and fiction All that intrigue and then it just fizzled out
Why did I bother !! I m annoyed at myself for watching
