Trained dancers in Dancing on Ice final - unfair!

Yes, I agree really. The trained dancers definitely have an advantage over the others. But I can't get really worked up about it. It's just a light entertainment programme which I find enjoyable. But I tend to record it so that I can fast forward through all the waffle. I just like the skating/dancing.

I’m very disappointed with DOI. I don’t think it’s fair that they have trained dancers competing against complete novices. I know they say ‘oh skating is a different skill etc’. However, the novices have to learn two new skills - skating AND dancing, whereas the trained dancers only have to learn one - skating. The trained dancers’ performance element is bound to be more impressive! As soon as this new series started, I predicted that the final would be … Regan, Brendan & Kimberley; the 3 trained dancers. Guess who’s in the final!!! All a bit predictable and unfair, IMO. The contestants should be, either, all dancers or no dancers - a level playing field would present a much more interesting journey, and a better programme all round. Used to love DOI but gone completely off it nowsad. Apparently Twitter was awash with negative comments last night. What do other GNetters think?
