And seriously? Would a therapist just allow someone else to walk into the room in the middle of a couple's session?
There are too many Coronation Street writers, hence the rubbish. We need 2-3 resident writers who will inject some humour such as Evelyn's scripts and the rubbish would slowly vanish.
The sleeping tablets had not had time to work never mind finding Audrey in hospital receiving treatment. Who found her and called an ambulance? Where did it happen because Gail spent a while at her house after the meal etc. Too rushed with little explanation.
We need another Blanche with humorous one-liners instead of girls tied up in a basement with no loo facilities. It just does not ring true.
Jenny McAlpine the actress, was born in 1984 so is 38
don't know how old the character of Fizz is supposed to be.
I thought her surprise would be Stephen’s return.
I didn't bother watching it last night. Instead, I watched a re-run of Maigret on ITV3.
The Corrie storylines are getting ridiculous and, at times, far too brutal for prime time viewing (re: Gary Windass in a temper)
Jenny was born in 1971, so unlikely to have a baby now.
I like Phil, and I think he and Jenny would make a good pairing.
Not sure where they're going with the Audrey storyline. How did she end up in hospital? Was it really "a little mistake" and then she called an ambulance herself? Or took herself to hospital? Is it a ploy to get Stephen to return, so he can fleece her of her money (I think that's what he came back for).
I did feel sorry for Audrey. 82 years old and the best gift her hapless family could come up with was to put her out to work again. If I was Audrey I'd be begging Stephen to take me back to Milan with him!
Actually, I could see Phill behind the bar at the Rovers, pulling pints and being mine host.
Don’t think Jenny and her toy boy have ever seemed very realistic, as for a baby for her and Phill…..?♀️
A whole new storyline could emerge, either IVF treatment for them, adoption, a surrogacy…….?
??????
Is Jenny of childbearing age? I'd be surprised.
I think you could be right about them getting together though. And as someone asked upthread - what happened to his book?
Good job Nana talked some sense into Phil. Someone needed to. Is he going to get it together with Jenny (her toy boy will be written out) then Phil can take over the pub while Jenny has a baby (Phil's longed for family).
I do
. I have it on series record, and binge on it when Mr Dog is out.
Audrey is always knocking back the G&Ts even then, and after all this time it would be taking its toll, but it all seems so rushed (and tbh Gail would drive me to drink too).
I'm so fed up of the lousy storylines in the recent Corries. They are so far fetched and improbable.
For quite a while I've been watching Classic Corrie on ITV 3 ,where there is humour and drama. The scripts are far better than todays.Even the characters are funnier.
A lot of laughs are provide by Vera and Jack,Fred Elliot ,Blanche and Curly.
At the moment it's set in the early 2000 ,s .Tyrone is still engaged to Maria, both Ken and Mike have met Adam and are fighting for custody.
Give it a try and see what you think.
It seems that she took an overdose of sleeping pills ?
This storyline doesn't ring true. Audrey has always been a heavy drinker, but in a matter of weeks she has got worse, and now this. I don't know if they are trying to deal with the issue of depression in older people, but I don't think it's being done well.
oh, poor audrey in hospital, what happened.
Doodledog that is so correct and so funny. Just think how many of the street’s residents have done time in prison. That would be almost all of them.
Is Wendy Crozier going to ensnare Ken again? He's getting on a bit, and she's a lot younger, but he's always been happier in a couple, so good luck to them if so.
Kelly has had an eventful life for one so young, hasn't she? Still, if she stays on long enough, before we know it she'll have settled down and become Mrs Respectable, like Fiz, Sally, the Battersby sisters and many others before her. Everyone who joined the cast in their youth has overcome an improbably inauspicious past in order to become a pillar of the community - the Street is a masterclass in rehabilitation
.
I feel I must have missed something, but I always assumed the person who put the tracker in Maria’s bag was that environmental health chap who chatted her up, then had seen her on that porn site.
Why did they all think it was the man to do with the refuse collection? Did no one think of the other chap?
They are lucky that Weatherfield Police Station is always open, I’m not sure where our nearest (open) one is anymore.
And would the pub have been the first place destination for Dopey Ed and Awful Aggie when he left hospital? He seemed to be lying in his hospital bed, all zonked out, then suddenly discharged and sipping his orange juice in the Rovers.
Hopeless storylines at the moment, Kelly, Maria, Audrey, Tyrone and Fiz, Sean and Frank, Wendy Crozier….not a decent plot amongst them.
lemsipI agree. It’s amazing how many disasters, shootings, fires, and kidnappings have happened in that one little street over the years. Not to mention the likelihood of ending up in hospital or prison. Definitely not a good place to live.
well I think there is something suspicious with phil and his 'ex' wife...... and what about the book? has it gone away...
the kelly storyline is too ridiculous for words!
Where are the HSE in the Ed/hotel storyline.
Tim did in fact try viagra maddyone and ended up in hospital, it was quite a funny episode.
I agree about the Phil & Tyrone story, it's descending into farce now.
The storyline about Tim and Sally’s sex life is ridiculous. Have they never heard of Viagra?
The Phil, Fiz, and Tyrone has also rumbled on for far too long, and them going on honeymoon together is beyond ridiculous.
Was Kelly genuinely annoyed when Aadi asked her if she was going to get changed? He didn't say it unkindly, and he explained that he just wanted to know whether to dress up himself. She'd have to get a lot less sensitive if she lived with Mr Dog
.
Oh, poor Aadi!
He has no luck with the girls does he?
And he’s so sweet.
Tim and Sally's sex life or lack of has been rumbling on for too long.
As for Phill's storyline, words fail me.
How did Fiz acquire her full wardrobe of clothes without leaving the house?
Maureen Lipman is the only sensible person working there and at least she is given decent one-liners which are true to her character.
Dread to think what will result in Tim accessing porn sites!
Will he come across Maria’s fake nude pictures?
It’s all yuk, yuk, yuk, not remotely educational, informative, interesting and certainly not amusing.
Ghastly storyline.
Corrie needs some different writers.
