He’ll try & kill her before she makes a will.

Doodledog Wed 31-Aug-22 21:11:24

Yes, there were some true colours on show tonight.

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Sept-22 08:37:32

When the charity shop owner mentioned to Stephen that the previous owner of the suit had died and the clothes had been donated by his widow it made me wonder if devious Stephen will somehow contact her with a view to attempting to con a vulnerable woman. Or maybe I’ve got an overactive imagination ?

It seemed an odd storyline unless it’s going to lead somewhere. Surely if he was a hot shot businessman before things went wrong he’d have had more than one suit. I think he’ll find something in the jacket pocket with the address of a wealthy, recently widowed woman. ?

Doodledog Thu 01-Sept-22 08:43:53

Yes, that was an odd detour, wasn't it? You may be right, GNW. Or maybe there will be some way that he can impersonate the previous owner?

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Sept-22 09:02:22

Ooh you might be on to something there Doodledog!

Aveline Thu 01-Sept-22 09:02:40

Ooh the crack team of GN scriptwriters is on the case! Excellent.

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Sept-22 09:09:09

?

Something is going to happen when this clothing magnate chap comes to see Carla. If he can get past Spider and his dodgy mate, he might find himself in Stephen's greasy clutches.

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 10:06:28

Has Audrey recently donated Lewis or Alfie’s suits to the charity shop?

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Sept-22 10:17:21

Ooh LauraNorderr the plot thickens!

Calendargirl Thu 01-Sept-22 12:08:59

LauraNorderr

Has Audrey recently donated Lewis or Alfie’s suits to the charity shop?

How long has ‘Alfey’ been dead? His suits would be a bit dated and musty. Also he was bigger than Stephen. Surely Audrey would have donated them a long time ago?

When Stephen went on his dustbin rampage, I really thought he was going to go green in the face and burst out of his shirt!

????????

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 12:16:00

I loved it when Audrey said that she’d re written her will and left Stephen out of it because he says he doesn’t need it. Has Audrey rumbled the goody two shoes game.

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 12:21:24

Is the dodgy Mr Big of the rag trade connected to Stephen? Is Stephen his lackey instructed to bring Underworld into the fold but failed? Has Stephen crossed him in business and is on the run from him? Will Nina tell Carla what she overheard in the cafe and save the day?

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 12:25:37

How old will the quads be when they eventually reappear? My money is on first day at school.

LauraNorderr Thu 01-Sept-22 12:29:24

Calendargirl sometimes widows hold on to clothes for a long time. Maybe Audrey only just felt strong enough or maybe she came across a suit that belonged to Lewis in the back of wardrobe when she was looking for her long lost hairdressing scissors.

Doodledog Thu 01-Sept-22 12:30:05

I was getting Hulk vibes too grin.

I suppose Audrey might be doing some long overdue life admin, but Alf died about 25 years ago - even I'm more organised than that?. The suit has to have a storyline though - or maybe the charity shop woman is due for a role?

Has anyone noticed that Beth's doppelgänger used to be Susanna in Brookside? She's come down in the world grin.

Calendargirl Thu 01-Sept-22 18:45:26

Is Audrey going to recruit any staff?

Maria and David now run the barbers, Emma whizzed off to Australia, there is no one else!

Surely Audrey at 82 is not going to be the sole hairdresser. She will be exhausted, assuming she gets any customers.

Grannynannywanny Thu 01-Sept-22 19:35:29

Maybe Claudia will join Audrey in the salon. That could drum up plenty of possible storylines. They’d be fighting over who was going to run their fingers through Ken’s hair.

If they organised a discount scheme for seniors they could come by the bus load from the retirement village.

honeyrose Thu 01-Sept-22 20:22:35

I can’t see Audrey getting too many customers - perhaps titivating Rita’s immaculate, immobile ginger wig. Or giving the Incredible Hulk (alias Stephen) a free haircut whilst he asks her, for the 100th time, whether she’s signed that Trust document yet. What a daft storyline, among many daft storylines. Stephen is definitely up to something and is getting increasingly desperate. I am interested to see how that storyline develops, I must say.

Doodledog Thu 01-Sept-22 20:46:02

Me too, honeyrose, but I hope they get on with it. Sometimes they drag things out for weeks, and it gets very boring.

I think the most viable solution is for Audrey to employ Edward Scissorhands. I'd heard the actor had offered her some cash and pills for more positive exposure in the UK*

*I haven't heard anything, it was for dramatic effect

Hahahaha Edward Scissorhands

I think the new suit is Israr's - I seem to remember Toyah packing up all his clothes to go to the charity shop recently. She'll probably recognise it on Stephen, and then his nearest and dearest will surely start to wonder whether Mr Big's as well off as he claims to be.

Does anyone else think that Spider might be an undercover cop, infiltrating the protestors? It seems a bit of a leap, but he has been out of the series a long time. And he is pulling some odd, secretive faces.....

I don't want Aadi to go, I think he's a great character. I hope there's going to be a way for the Kelly actor to leave without taking him with her.

Doodledog Fri 02-Sept-22 13:38:51

*I think the new suit is Imran's - I seem to remember Toyah packing up all his clothes to go to the charity shop recently. She'll probably recognise it on Stephen, and then his nearest and dearest will surely start to wonder whether Mr Big's as well off as he claims to be.

Ah! The Miss Marple Award goes to MAggiemaybe grin. You are absolutely right - they did make a big deal of her clearing out Imran's things and taking them to charity.

And a good call about Spider, too. He had joined 'The System' before he left by working in the benefit office. Maybe he turned full circle. Having said that, he slept with Toyah, and that might be a bit sensitive in the light of the undercover policemen who did get very close to those they were investigating, and have been called to account about it.

Oh, I wish we had an edit button. That post is full of mistakes, but I hope you get the gist.
