Who is Emma,s Mum , how did she and Steve meet , anybody know ?

Emma’s mum was Fiona Middleton, who was a hairdresser in Audrey’s salon.

She was going to marry either Steve or his dad Jim McDonald at one point, can’t remember which way round it was.

Kate1949 Fri 08-Apr-22 21:43:30

Lilypops Emma's mum was Fiona, played by Angela Griffin. I can't remember how her and Steve met. I have a feeling she was a hairdresser but I could be wrong.

Oh my goodness!

Really think Steve McDonald’s acting is getting to be almost as bad as the Baileys.

His gurning and dramatics are so OTT.

BlueBelle Fri 08-Apr-22 21:45:53

Well didn’t anyone feel for Kelly then ?

Calendargirl Fri 08-Apr-22 21:59:50

BlueBelle

Watched it in ITV+1, so only just seen the sad ending!

Yes, pity she was just too late.

Grannynannywanny Fri 08-Apr-22 22:14:15

That was a heart wrenching final scene from Kelly. Such a pity she didn’t get herself there on time.

Thankyou Calendar girl and Kate 1949. I remember Fiona now, played by Angela Griffin. Steve,s acting is so OTT. It’s like a comedy.

Calendargirl Sat 09-Apr-22 07:02:17

It’s like a comedy

Except it’s just not funny.

BlueBelle Sat 09-Apr-22 08:13:38

So the taxi has taken its first actor thankfully I liked Emma but the boyfriend was a poor actor and the story so silly
whose next taxi s going to be busy next few weeks

Charleygirl5 Sat 09-Apr-22 09:49:51

I read there may well be another death but I have no idea who.

Nice to know it is as easy to hop over to Australia, almost the same as going to France with no restrictions either.

I have quite a list of folk I cannot stand and Steve is high on it, along with the Baileys and that girl with the quads. I rarely understand a word she says. Many mutter and mumble, speaking too quickly.

vegansrock Sat 09-Apr-22 12:30:14

Thank goodness Emma has gone off in the taxi that storyline was so boring. There are quite a number of other characters I’d like to take the taxi trip . Nick Tilsey is top of my list.

Trying not to read these posts as we had a power cut for several hours last night and I missed the soaps and Grantchester.
I think there may be a catch up programme tomorrow, does anyone know ?

Charleygirl5 Sat 09-Apr-22 14:05:48

sodapop please do not quote me but I think one has to join and pay for ITV hub to see any recently shown. There used to be catch-ups around midday during the week but I have not seen any. Others may know.

Grannynannywanny Sat 09-Apr-22 14:32:39

sodapop I’ve just checked the tv schedule and unfortunately the omnibus was this morning. I can’t see any other one listed. This is the link to sign up to ITV Hub and hopefully you’ll find it there. There’s no charge, just your email address to sign in.

www.itv.com/hub/user/signup

I checked YouTube and there are several 2-3 min clips from last night but not the full episode.

Charleygirl5 Sat 09-Apr-22 16:51:40

Granywannynanny thanks so much for that- I was certain one had to pay for ITV hub but it is Hub+ without breaks for which one has to pay. I will sign up.

sodapop Sat 09-Apr-22 17:19:31

Thank you charleygirl & Grannynannywanny not sure I can get ITV hub here in France. I see the omnibus for Emmerdale is on early tomorrow so I can record that.
Not that I'm addicted to the soaps you understand ?

Grannynannywanny Sat 09-Apr-22 17:20:42

The adverts are a bit annoying Charleygirl5. I mostly have my box set to record what I want to watch and that way I can skip over the adverts.

Grannynannywanny Sat 09-Apr-22 17:25:22

If you have no luck with ITV Hub sodapop maybe you could find the highlights of last night’s episode in a selection of clips on YouTube if you search for Coronation St April 8th.

pinkprincess Sat 09-Apr-22 20:58:55

I cannot stand Steve and his stupid acting. When he pulls those silly faces and talks in that little boy voice I feel like screaming
Gemma is another one who can go, cannot speak without shouting and 0TT acting.
In fact here are few more who need proper acting lessons.

No, you can see it without payment. We have done on occasions the set top box has failed.

The one without adverts you have to pay for.

DiscoDancer1975 Sun 10-Apr-22 17:59:45

I love Steve. I think he’s very typical of an awkward dad. Always makes me laugh.

I too have a list of a few I wouldn’t mind being taken off in a taxi. Emma was one of them. Her character was fine at the beginning, but just became annoying.

I felt Kelly’s distraught final scene a bit strained if I’m honest.

lemsip Mon 11-Apr-22 20:56:45

there is no happiness in corrie, just continuous crying from one or the other and the headmistress now.

Calendargirl Mon 11-Apr-22 20:59:30

Don’t think Daniel should have blabbed straightaway to the blonde TA ex girlfriend (Nicky?) about the deputy head’s marriage, after saying ‘what happens in the classroom stays in the classroom’.

Not very discreet.
