Enjoyable Rubbish! ?

Hello!

Others say ‘guilty pleasures’, but I’m of the belief that no pleasure should be guilty; unless you’re talking along the lines of crack cocaine or casual violence.

My recently discovered rubbish de jour is Curvy Brides Boutique.

I used to love Celebrity Big Brother.
The fourth series with Pete Burns, George Galloway, Preston and Chantelle was absolute perfection.
I don’t think that I’ve enjoyed anything on TV more.

So, with Curvy Brides Boutique, I realise that I have set the bar rather low.

DH rather enjoys those ridiculous programs featuring members of the British police making absolute dipsticks of themselves.

What daft stuff do you enjoy?
Thank you smile

Four in a Bed is my go to programme on a wet afternoon. I also like that programme where people try to buy their dream home in Spain with a budget of £50000. Turkish dramas now? I am intrigued.

Annaram1 Sat 11-Jun-22 11:52:12

Yes, how do you actually find Turkish dramas on TV?

I’ll also admit to occasionally watching Four In A Bed. The contestants are so competitive and try so hard to find fault with the other accommodation so they can underpay.

I used to watch a programme where an American woman, Anne somebody, used to make improvements to people’s houses to improve their chances of selling but I just can’t remember the name of the programme.

Dickinson’s Real Deal is another programme I sometimes watch when I turn on the tv and who can forget Supermarket Sweep with the lovely Dale Winton.

I remember that Chantelle had a mission to be believed to be a celebrity.

It was interesting how that was assessed.

The people were given a task that the eleven of them were to go and stand in order of their celebrity status and had some fairly short time to do it in.

Some of them started discussing amongst themselves who was a bigger celebrity than who and then one young man pointed out that the key thing was that everybody was lined up within the time allowed and went and stood at the place for the person with the least celebrity status. The others realised that he was right, just get in line before the time for the task ran out. Thus Chantelle was not last in the line, so was deemed to have achieved celebrity status and allowed to stay.

We like Place in the sun and Four in a Bed.
I love if I’m on my own My 600lb life and as NotSpaghetti says Ice Road Truckers.

Galaxy I too watch The House Doctor early mornings - Ch5 I think. It’s really old fashioned now, but the basic idea of de-clutter and neutralize decor to sell still makes sense.

FannyCornforth Sat 11-Jun-22 12:39:04

Yes, SD it was Maggot of the joke band Goldie Lookin’ Chain, who gallantly took last place.
He was a nice chap.

I think CBB 4 could be my Mastermind subject.

The glamour model Jodie Marsh was subject to some terrible misogynistic bullying by Barrymore and chums. It was far worse than the Shilpa Shetty business, but I suppose she was treated as fair game.

Married At First Sight Australia - unmissable!

My current go-to for bliss and joy is "Secrets of the London Underground" on Yesterday: the Tube was such a part of my life growing up and starting work, I love this programme and the enthusiasm of the presenters.

Perhaps I should have said I don’t watch and never have watched any of these programmes. I seem to have prompted a confession by Grandyma.
