Hello!

Others say ‘guilty pleasures’, but I’m of the belief that no pleasure should be guilty; unless you’re talking along the lines of crack cocaine or casual violence.

My recently discovered rubbish de jour is Curvy Brides Boutique.

I used to love Celebrity Big Brother.
The fourth series with Pete Burns, George Galloway, Preston and Chantelle was absolute perfection.
I don’t think that I’ve enjoyed anything on TV more.

So, with Curvy Brides Boutique, I realise that I have set the bar rather low.

DH rather enjoys those ridiculous programs featuring members of the British police making absolute dipsticks of themselves.

What daft stuff do you enjoy?
Thank you smile

Thanks to those who mentioned House Doctor, I must look for it and set it to record. I used to admire Alastair Appleton's patience and have liked him ever since!

Bargain Loving Brits in the Sun

Love it!

There’s an Irish programme called Stop, Search, Seize - very similar to Border Patrol Australia - love that one.

Got to say a lot of the programmes mentioned so far don’t fit into my ‘rubbish’ viewing. ?

I taught a yr 7 girl who told me she couldn’t watch a TV programme we were discussing because her Dad was watching Police, Camera, Dickhead! ?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Jun-22 16:26:22

Oh Merlot that just reminded me.

I thought I had kept my what a complete Dick phrases quiet whilst youngest was in car seat in the back.

One day they came out with Mummy knows lots of drivers, they are all called Dick.

Yes, how do you actually find Turkish dramas on TV?

Search on You Tube for Turkish dramas with English subtitles.

Here is your starter for ten:

Heartbreak, medical drama (I have already watched both the Chinese and Korean versions, but this is the best version). blush
My left Side
Island Tale etc, etc.

I also like Curvy Brides’ Boutique and the Australian version of Nothing to Declare. I have been known to watch My 600 lb Life and am amazed how anyone could get to that size in the first place.

Marydoll I just watched that YouTube thing about spots. I can’t get it out of my head now!!!!

Marydoll Sat 11-Jun-22 17:58:45

Sorry!!!!!! blush. I'm giving away all my guilty secrets. Everytime, I log on to watch my Turkish dramas, Mr Popzit pops up!

I do have other more cerebral interests as well! wink

My current guilty pleasure is Glow Up on BBC 3 and therefore aimed at an audience far younger than I am. It's addictive.

I have a granddaughter who is a qualified film and theatre MUA. The back seat of her car often has weird looking packages scattered about.

My favourite one was a set of prosthetic buttocks! ?

I absolutely love Gogglebox and make no apology for it… it is the only program that I actually laugh out loud at..??

I love it too. And yes, I also laugh out loud.

Location x 3 and a Place in the Sun are my failing, especially in winter when its dark and cold.

One of my favourite ones used to be The Sheriffs Are Coming. I always enjoyed watching a pompous businessman telling them they weren't allowed to take his property. It was even better if he then called the police to remove the sheriffs. In comes the shiny police car and an officer gets out and says "I'm sorry sir but they have a court order and are legally bound to take either your money or your possessions. It was always interesting to see how quickly they could find a forgotten bank account or a convenient brother with a ready supply of cash.

I also play Bubble Pop on my iPad which is completely mindless.

Takeshi’s Castle! Haven’t seen it for years, but used to love it. Can’t think of another programme that’s consistently made me laugh as much as TC did.

Love the Mallorca files. Father brown afternoon telly love it.

DanniRae Sat 11-Jun-22 20:41:32

I spent most of the afternoon watching "Four in a Bed". I also love "Homes under the Hammer" - "Escape to the Country" - "Loose Women" (but not if Janet Street Porter is on it).
I LOVED "Big Brother" especially the one with Josie Gibson who now presents on "This Morning".

GrannyGravy13 Sat 11-Jun-22 22:11:02

The have just watched Dirty Dancing and realised that I had a huge smile on my face at the end, I just love this film.

I loved the Pete Burns CBB! The bit where they had to carry a houseplant around all day, and he was furious because he couldn't rearrange his 'bits' when he felt like it was hilarious.

I am also a Gogglebox fan (although I think it's too scripted now) and also love GPs Behind Closed Doors. (oh for the days when people could get actual appointments with doctors who knew their names!).

Oh, and I once watched one of those customs programmes where people try to smuggle vast amounts of vegetation into Australia grin. My daughter told me about it and I didn't believe how bare-faced they were until I saw it with my own eyes. It was on back to back for hours, and I just sat, fascinated and watched it all.

Oh yes “The Sheriffs are coming “. Loved it. And there was one older sheriff who was really kind. Can’t remember his name though.

Smyth my about houses especially makeovers. Location location location is the absolute best and the anything Kirstie or Phil are in. Bake off is a definite and Bargain Hunt to watch while having lunch at home. Grace and Frankie, Modern Family, Life in Pieces, Schitts Creek and The Kominsky Method are my favourite comedy shows.
