Will you be tuning in?

Zoejory Sat 03-Sept-22 22:28:42

Nope

Grandma70s Sat 03-Sept-22 22:29:43

I certainly will.

Bixiboo Sat 03-Sept-22 22:30:20

Yes, like Laura Keunssberg although she can be quite forceful at times. Never really liked Andrew Marr so looking forward to Laura.

Kim19 Sat 03-Sept-22 22:41:40

Yes, I'll give her a go. Don't particularly like her style but she may bring something different to this new show.

tanith Sat 03-Sept-22 22:59:44

I’ll give it a try I quite like Laura.

Doodledog Sat 03-Sept-22 23:46:27

Yes, I’ll be watching. I have a busy day tomorrow (packing to go away) but I’ll watch while eating my breakfast. I miss having a decent political interview over the summer. I know presenters have to have holidays, as do politicians, but I think politicians’ should be staggered like everyone else, and there should be cover for political presenters so that there’s not a vacuum such as we’ve had lately.

No chance ,just another biased tory ,the media is full of them1

kittylester Sun 04-Sept-22 06:11:30

Not what my DH says, *paddyann'.
My dh thinks she is very anti-Tory.

Zoejory Sun 04-Sept-22 07:28:19

She's sitting on a desk, swinging her legs, discussing the upcoming show
I really don't understand why she is sat on her desk

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Sept-22 07:39:14

Sorry can’t stand her. She likes the sound of her own voice too much and never listens. It seems to be the trait of most interviewers these days.

Joseanne Sun 04-Sept-22 07:39:54

I'd better get my glasses in case I mistake her for the wrong one. They both look similar.
Actually her interviews might make a refreshing change. The old ones were becoming staid.

Oopsadaisy1 Sun 04-Sept-22 07:40:41

And it’s a No from me, sorry but I just can’t like her.

Yes I agree. I used to like Laura but I find her rude and arrogant in her interviews and when ‘reporting’. Why do interviewers have to be so rude and disrespectful - whatever happened to manners?

MerylStreep Sun 04-Sept-22 07:55:50

No thanks. Too much up her own backside.

Georgesgran Sun 04-Sept-22 08:15:23

And it’s a no from me, for most of the above reasons.

MayBee70 Sun 04-Sept-22 08:18:19

I don’t like her and I don’t trust her.

Ailidh Sun 04-Sept-22 08:19:36

No. I find her style merely abrasive. I'm sure it's meant to be assertive but it's just rude IMHO.

tanith Sun 04-Sept-22 08:30:44

Isn’t the job of a political journalist to push politicians to give straight answers? Which of course is why she’s accused of being rude and pushy and is disliked by lots of politicians from all sides.

Grandmadinosaur Sun 04-Sept-22 08:33:39

A no from me too.

Doodledog Sun 04-Sept-22 08:40:51

I think she’s up against it because a lot of people don’t like straight-talking assertive women. Men with similar traits (Paxman?) are ‘incisive’ and ‘determined’, but women are ‘pushy’ and ‘rude’. Keunssberg has that mountain to climb before she starts her first interview.

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Sept-22 08:41:12

What is her job then Tanith?

dragonfly46 Sun 04-Sept-22 08:42:51

I don’t agree Doodledog I think it is the new culture of interviewing to ask the question and not listen to the answer and interrupt. The men are just as bad.

Greyduster Sun 04-Sept-22 08:46:36

No, I’m afraid I find her abrasive too, and biased.

That’s a bit different. I find interruptions annoying too, but think they do it in the hope of stalling the filibustering of so many politicians. The art of filling time without answering the question is well-practised by so many of them, that interviewing without interrupting must be really difficult. I don’t think Keunssberg is any worse than the others for that, really.
