Will you be tuning in?

Germanshepherdsmum Sun 04-Sept-22 09:23:15

I can’t stand the woman.

Watching it now and Laura Kuenssberg is proving to be exactly the same as Andrew Marr, Nick Robinson, Emily Maitlis et al; asking questions then interrupting before a carefully considered answer is delivered, which the viewer wants to hear.
Not filibustering, not stalling, these politicians are too experienced for that but have points they wish to make.
Now a collection of talking heads telling us what they think.
Disappointing.

Zoejory

She's sitting on a desk, swinging her legs, discussing the upcoming show
I really don't understand why she is sat on her desk

She’s showing her legs? ?

The minx!

Zoejory Sun 04-Sept-22 10:10:50

Haha!

Believe me I'm no prude, however she looked, to me, rather odd. Other opinions are available ?

CatsCatsCats Sun 04-Sept-22 10:16:54

Joseanne. It's not just you that needs your glasses on. I, too, watched the advert for LK's show and mistook her for Liz Truss. Poor Laura smile.

On the other issue, about which political party she has more sympathy for, there was a feature in a woman's magazine about how she had been criticized for being biased towards the opposite party by both Labour and Tory supporters.

Boz Sun 04-Sept-22 10:17:44

LK is a very good successor to AM - both canny scots who have the intelligence to see through our duplicitious politicians of any Party.
P,S.. If you don't interrupt Politicians they will go on for ever, pushing the Party line.

I neither like or dislike her style of interview. But I watched - I particularly liked Ukrainian First Lady.

Casdon Sun 04-Sept-22 10:22:41

I thought she was okay, I’m not a huge fan, I wish she would have a less sour expression and smile more. I don’t think she does show political bias though, I think she is equally incisive whoever she interviews - she’s good at demonstrating the weakness of interviewees.

Watched but not too impressed. Room for improvement but it was the first one so will continue to watch next week.
Truss interview not impressed at all. She has such a dreadful way of speaking. Is she really the “best” ?

Lexisgranny Sun 04-Sept-22 10:34:03

No, I don’t like her style of presenting or interviewing. I like Sunday mornings to be restful, and I fear I would end up shouting at the tv.

Zonne Sun 04-Sept-22 12:07:14

I watched it on catch-up, and thought it was bitty, disjointed, and shallow. I grinned a bit at Joe Lycett, and at Thornberry trying not laugh out loud at his sarcasm.

Pittcity Sun 04-Sept-22 12:14:00

The programme seems to have turned away from the usual serious BBC political fayre to a more popular format. A bright set and serious interviews interspersed with comedy and lighter news.
I don't think I learned anything new although it made Liz Truss look a bit better than other interviews.
I don't think I'll make a point of watching regularly.

Joe Lycett wrote on twitter today that he was looking forward to going on the new version of ‘Would I Lie to You’.

No, I can’t stand the woman and agree with all the negative comments already mentioned. I certainly don’t think she is pro Tory.

Deedaa Sun 04-Sept-22 21:18:25

I love Joe "I'm so right wing" grin

Elrel Sun 04-Sept-22 22:40:31

Joe Lycett nailed it today - genius!

Whitewavemark2 Mon 05-Sept-22 06:56:55

Yes Joe Lycett was good. "Truss was just the backwash we'd been left with after 12 years of Tory governments."

Satire at its best, judging by how much it has upset a particular group of people, like the daily mail.

I only watched Truss during which I began to lose the will to live.

Since when has the pursuit of a fairer distribution of wealth in society been a drag on growth!

The trickle down theory has been shown to be entirely wrong in its assumption. Has she not done any reading since leaving university?

How on earth as PM when deciding the budget, economy etc. can you not have any opinion on what the interest rates should be? She doesn’t make any sense.

BlueBalou Mon 05-Sept-22 07:33:27

I strongly dislike her, she irritates me so much!

henetha Mon 05-Sept-22 10:03:37

I watched, simply because I have always watched the Sunday morning show, with Andrew Marr for years, and David Frost years ago. I am not keen on LK, so was quite surprised that I liked the programme quite a lot. She was better than I expected (unlike Liz Truss who I thought was boring, tedious, would not answer questions directly, etc.).
I shall definitely continue my tradition of watching the Sunday morning show.

Mollygo Mon 05-Sept-22 18:01:38

Sunday is a day for not being hassled by politics, so I didn’t watch before and, since I dislike LK, I won’t be watching her.
