Seeing Penny Junor on Tv today reminded me of Afternoon Plus , a show presented by Mavis and Penny . I'd always liked Mavis so googled her to see ' where she was now' - she died on Friday aged 91 ..... sad to read it .

Oh I really liked her, I remember her well. She had a nice natural way with people, which came across well. Sympathies to her friends and family, R.I.P

I remember one Easter I think, the poem by GK Chesterton , The Donkey, was read out on her programme. It finished with the phrase about how it carried Jesus.

Mavis said how moving she found it.

I agreed, and have always associated that poem with her.

there was another early afternoon show with four ladies some years ago late sixties to seventies Houseparty it was called one of their names was Cherry Marshall can't recall others but I always watched.
