Think it's in cinemas towards the end of Spetember

Looks an easy watch film, think I may take myself off to the Flicks one afternoon with my Haribos (they don't make a noise when you eat them)

30th September it's out, stars Leslie Manville.

Ooh. I like her.

I have tickets to see it in November and it looks a lot of fun.
I like Lesley Manville as an actress - she can do “lightweight” and Shakespeare. She is versatile.

I think I read this book many years ago.
Does she have a couture dress made?

bikergran Sat 24-Sept-22 21:52:01

Yes it is a story about a dress. Looking forward to watching it. smile

Yes I shall be going to see it.

The story had a very sad ending and I am not sure Lesley Manville , wonderful actress as she is, portrays Mrs Harris as she is written.
If you have not read the book you will enjoy.

Yes, I shall go to our local cinema (hopefully an afternoon show) and relax on the lovely recliner seat. I like Leslie Mannville.

Yes maybe a bit cheesy, so what if there's no swearing, murder, graphic details, porno, horror etc and I can understand what they are talking about, then bring it on, just like Mama Mia, Saturday night fever, Grease. I love cheesy smile

I read the book years ago and enjoyed it. I am hoping to see it if only because I love Paris

Love Leslie Mannville. Will probably go off on my own to see it.

henetha Sat 24-Sept-22 23:22:19

Yes. I hope to get to Exeter to see it.
Looks good.

I do really like Lesley Manville, but have a feeling it might be a bit too sweet/corny for me.
Will be glad to be told if I’m wrong.

Planning to see it. When we went to see Downton Abbey in the cinema, we saw the trailer. Also the new George clooney and Julia Robert’s out now looks light hearted. Never fancied George but do think he’s charming.

I like the sound of this. Slightly cheesy might be ok for a pleasant bit of escapism to Paris. I have never known Lesley Manville to do cheesy, more of a serious actor from what I have seen her do.

I asked that question innocently but was told off !

I read the book years ago, hopefully I have forgotten most of it so will enjoy the film when it eventually reached the TV. I don’t go to the Cinema to see a film if I’ve read the book.

I like Lesley Manville.

I like Lesley Manville but this is not my kind of film so will give it a miss. Hope others enjoy it though.

Well, Lindiann, thanks for that. Well, Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest!

Yes, decidely interested in lighter viewing currently. Too much misery and violence around in real life to further endure on screen. Saw the George Clooney film last week. Totally ridiculous plot but strangely escaping and enjoyable rubbish.

TillyTrotter Wed 26-Oct-22 07:08:55

I left half way through the George Clooney film “Lost in Paradise” this week. Afraid it didn’t do it for me. It would get my “rotten tomatoes” vote.
