As for Matt, for once I’m with BG, he is confusing. Theres something boyishly charming about him. He seems to be unfazed by anything or anyone.
But you don’t rise to the dizzy heights of health minister by being everyone’s friend.

Well she let her journalistic impartiality slip when she expressed her personal feelings over the death of her aunt of Covid and sitting alone at her funeral. Very sad of course, but not MH's fault.

I suspect George was expecting MH to be first out and he took his chance to have a go at him before he left. It will be interesting to see how they interact now.

The trouble is, its very hard to dislike Matt, however much I ought to.
Then I question his apparent niceness, because I think it must require fierce ruthlessness to secure a position and cling on in politics.

That's a good point about BG Grannynannywanny.

Charlene wasn't expecting to leave as she made reference to still being there in her speech. Whereas Jill was humble and said something like, "If I leave today......."

Good for George for saying it, and good for Matt for understanding (or maybe just saying he does?)

It just confirms what a self-centred diva George is, everything is about him and his feelings. Fancy saying to someone 'I have a problem with you' as if that is the most important thing. Never mind how they feel.

Whatever I think of BG, he has been very unlucky with his partners for trials, they have been useless.

Agreed, he hasn't been too bad in the trials really, but his partners have been pants. I'd like to see him do a trial on his own.

Why was Charlene so worried about her future career that she couldn't let go and be herself? I thought that was the idea of the programme. To my mind she has done herself a disservice in that respect.
I agree with that Joseanne. I think she has been a bit high maintenance and I just knew she would be first out as soon as she failed that water trial. She was the first one to scream 'let me out'. So they did.

I was not surprised Charlene went first, she was too worried about her journalist career to be herself.

Charlene somehow scrambled together some nonsense about her 'journalistic impartiality' as an excuse. She just didn't fancy sharing with Matt.

Ironically, I'm not sure Charlene understands the meaning of "impartial" in any form.
I think Sue is playing a game, (arent they all?), and she will now play "mother" and listen to all the woes, especially as she is Deputy leader. That will help Mike get an easy time as leader and boost his ratings.
For me it's still Jill, Owen or Scarlette.
Anyone else feel a bit worried how this is all affecting Sean?

Yes that’s exactly how I feel. I find Matt very likeable, but can’t help wondering if I’m being hoodwinked.
But I still fail to see why he’s being treated like public enemy number one.
Okay, he was health minister during covid, I doubt he made a single decision without taking advice, he kissed a woman who was not his wife, well really, that’s hardly the crime of the century, obviously horrible for his family, but that doesn’t make him a bad person.
I suspect it’s just that he’s a Tory boy.

Sean seems to find himself present when others want to offload nastily about various contestants. Sean isn't a natural mediator and he looks to me as though he gets upset. Ant and Dec make fun of him rather too readily for me.

Last night Sean seemed very upset, he seems on the edge of things somehow, he was very different when he was with Matt at the beginning.

I think Seann is a disturbed man and should not be in there. His behaviour is very erratic.

It seems then that the casting crew wanted ‘one who’ll go off the rails’ like Ian Lee did previously.
Post-Caroline Flack I expect they think an unstable man is more viewer (and Ofcom) friendly than an unstable woman

I think George was truthful he wasn’t nasty just truthful not a fawning person pretending to Hancocks face that he liked him but then talked behind his back he said it to his face in a reasonable way

And as we’ve previously discussed, Galaxy, Walsh was guilty of coercive control and domestic abuse, and I find it difficult to believe that men who act like that aren’t mentally ill in some way.
I don’t ever remember him actually being famous prior to Strictly.
Was he a regular on the laddish comedy panel show circuit?

I think you're right about George Grannynannywannyand he's put himself on the back foot by telling Matt he doesn't like him. First time he's said so to his face, rather than constantly having a go about him behind his back.

He agreed with the answer Matt gave to the bush trucker trial question then when they found out it was wrong said 'this is all on you Matt'. They lost the chocolate; Matt's fault. Chris only won one star, George and Charlene just 2 and Owen and Scarlet failed to complete their bush tracker trial, yet lots of support and being told not to worry as it should be, from everyone including Matt.

I think Seann is finding the constant criticism of Matt too much TBH. He doesn't seem to have the confidence to disagree of say he doesn't want to be a part of it, and maybe is worried about being on the receiving end if he's too friendly with Matt.

There were a couple of brief moments last night when I thought the nastiness was getting to Matt. Reminds me of 'Lord of the Flies' with Matt being cast in the role of Piggy.

That's the thing though BlueBelle, George has been pretending to Matts face. He was taken by surprise when Matt suddenly appeared unexpectedly while he was bitching about him to Seann.

He was quite happy to talk about his prosecution and how he'd been unfairly represented in the media to a non judgemental Matt, wasn't he.

I remember back in the early days of Big Brother, when they had a live feed from the house all night. Whenever the housemates were talking about other people, the conversation was masked with birdsong.

Something to do with maintaining the privacy of the people being talked about and who hadn't given permission for them to "be on" national TV.

I suspect the rules will be different for those in the public eye, like Johnson and The Queen, but I don't doubt for one minute that questions have been asked.

But let's not forget that Matt Hancock has already said he has a book due out 😉 and his best stories will be in there. He may have signed an agreement with the publishers that he won't talk about certain subjects until the book is published

It feels to me that the producers are highlighting Seann. They do seem to emphasise individuals/ bring them to viewers attention just prior to them being voted out. He seemed upset last night but it wasn't very clear exactly why. He didn't want to 'piss off Scarlette'? Seems an odd reason for distress. Maybe he fancies her? Understandable as she's very attractive and seems very nice.
