WATCHING ...Harry & Meghan Netflix

Yes indeed. Press officers and PR people are often there to create an image of public person that isn't really true. Quite often the easily led think that the image actually represents the real person. They might believe a person came up with a clever comment when they didn't come up with it at all.

Not saying that's the case here, of course...

I haven't watched it but think the whole debacle threw up an immense cloud that hung over The Queen during the final couple of years of her life. Having reached such an age, I can only imagine just wanting it all to go away, but unfortunately, it was in her face all the time which must have made her pretty stressed.

No idea, but along with ‘Recollections may vary’, they are both on-the-nail, and if she didn’t think them up herself, I for one, am quite happy to think she did.

I assume that’s what press officers and speech writers are paid to do.

Well having struggled through 30 mins of the first episode I actually managed about 30 mins of the last episode. So my total watch is about 60 mins which is all I could manage without throwing up. How anyone could sit through 6 hours is totally beyond me.

There seemed to be a lot of 'home movies' (very very boring) overlaid with sloppy music, showing their privileged life. I couldn't help thinking how sickening to hear them whinging and moaning while they wandered in beautiful open spaces and beaches, or played in their massive garden surrounded by wonderful views, whilst at the same time whole families were shut up in cramped high rise flats unable to go out due to covid lockdowns. Do they really expect us to sympathise?

It was all cleverly put together of course, with mobile phone footage mixed with real camera footage (requiring a camera crew). Did anyone notice how seamlessly they were both edited, and how the camera crew were there at quite surprising times. Not surprising for them of course as filming with camera crews is all planned!

I was constantly reminded that Meghan is an actress as she simpered endlessly about her suffering. Interesting that one of the contestants in 'The Traitors' on BBC said tonight (on discovering that one of the contestants was an actress) 'Well we can't believe anything she says now because she's an actress'. 😂

I do have sympathy for them regarding the press intrusion which I'm sure was very unwelcome, but instead of avoiding the press they now seem to be encouraging more press intrusion. So go figure.

I too feel Meghan is putting her acting skills to good use, as for Harry, he is unrecognisable from the days of nights out with the lads or serving in Afghanistan. He claims he was “frightened” when William “ shouted and screamed at him”. Really?
Have these brothers never argued or fought as boys? His immaturity is frightening and makes one really suspect he is being manipulated by a stronger woman.
Rather like Edward and Wallis Simpson.

Last week I kept falling asleep watching it and today also. It's quite tedious .
Harry seriously needs to grow up. He seems emotionally very young. I was again struck by how beautiful Meghan is.
But there's this nagging feeling that she's acting a part.

Did anyone hear them say something like they always manage to find each other in the raging chaos? It was a bitter sweet comment because they are so deluded.

Yes, there us an element of feeling sorry for them, especially Meghan. But Harry is so angry, bitter and draining. I really ended up resenting him for thinking himself so important, especially his constant references to being his mother's son.

Finished watching it all this evening. In a way I feel very sorry for them both. My first impression was that this was more like listening in on a therapy session than watching a documentary. It seems to me that both of them could do with someone to talk to to help them put past experiences into perspective. Talking it through with millions watching isn't going to help them at all.

Harry is clearly still adversely affected by his childhood and his constant references to his mother seem unhealthy to me.

If they really are as deeply in love as they would like us to believe then surely they can build a life together that doesn't involve constantly complaining about the way they are treated.

I'd give the marriage another 5 years at most before they split, but it would be lovely to be proved wrong.

Of course it is boring because H & M are two misguided conceited people who go on and on and on about the rubbish treatment they received within the institution. Only once or twice did they acknowledge anything good in other members of the family, like Charles walking Meghan down the aisle. But sadly they then can't resist the urge to cruelly shatter that fragile link by continuing to whinge and whine as they find more accusations to suit their story of victimhood.

I don't agree, Lucca. Pupils with special needs, particularly older ones, should be educated in smaller groups, with lessons tailored to their needs which become more specific the older they get. This has been proved to be the most effective way of learning, and I cannot give you the names of the studies which investigated this as they were in the 1980s and 1990s but introducing TAs was a much cheaper way of dealing with the problem and the research was not implemented. Students become dependent on their TAs, and produce work that they cannot achieve independently.
And as for the training, I was involved in it before I retired and was not impressed.

Yes they should. Everyone knows smaller classes are the answer but it simply doesn’t /can’t happen in the state sector. So I’m being realistic

Honestly for a couple who claims to have been so desperate for a life away from the spotlight they never fail to see it out.
