So have switched onto Netflix - wanted to see for myself what the 'fuss' is all about as many diverse opinions on this couple on here and other social platforms ...as well as the media with 'experts' who state this and that etc etc...

Larsonsmum Fri 09-Dec-22 12:45:15

Have seen enough about it in media coverage to last me a lifetime.

volver Fri 09-Dec-22 12:43:54

That's not what its purporting to be about though is it? It's about the excesses of the press.

I haven't even seen the documentary but know how to google.

Tell you what's beyond awful. The absolute conviction of some people to believe everything they're told, provided it's anti Meghan.

Who's next, I wonder?

Chestnut Fri 09-Dec-22 12:41:39

Wow, Lathyrus, this will just roll on and on while they keep doing this, more misrepresentations and lies.

Lathyrus Fri 09-Dec-22 12:34:13

Wow. I’ve just been reading complaints that one of the headlines shown purporting to be about the Sussexes was taken from coverage of the Hillsborough disaster.

That’s just beyond awful

I think William has just given in to the blackmail. There's nothing "healthy" about it.

????

Lost me there………

You give us orchestrated pictures of your kids and we won't ask for anything else.

Yet.

I think some people are happy not to rock the boat and go along with what they were born into. Others like Prince Harry rebel against the establishment.

People have been like this since the beginning of time.

They haven't brought it on themselves Chestnut. Its perfectly allowable to make a documentary about yourself and not to have the press "slaughter" you for it.
'Allowable'? They knew exactly how the press would react to this series. No matter what we think of the press we all know what they are like. So of course they have brought it on themselves.

Nobody brings racism and bullying on themselves.

Full stop.

Hang on! You are twisting the conversation again (as usual). I wasn't referring to racism and bullying. I was referring to media attention. They knew they would be plastered all over the press when this was released. No-one mentioned racism and bullying except you.

He said in the docuseries that ALL his previous girlfriends turned him down due to the scrutiny.
Maybe, maybe not, though it must have been awful for them.

Meghan is at home in front of a camera so I thought she would be able to cope with the scrutiny better than Harry’s previous girlfriends.

I think it’s Harry who is determined to carry on poking the hornet’s nest. He never stops. It doesn’t occur to him that if he just shut up and got on with life they might, just might back off.

Princess Diana made a good point when she said the reason she always wore the same clothes when she went to the gym was that the paps would have nothing to sell.

William and Kate have worked hard to create a ‘healthy’ relationship with the press and maybe William loathes them just as much as Harry. He just has more sense.

Likewise Lucca, no reply to my honest answer comment either! Just a sneer which I probably deserved for my warped sense of humour! grin

Back to those who watched it, I thought the hair in a towel bit after a shower was clever and hilarious, to make us think she was just like all the rest of us!

The difference being that none of us would have a cameraman in our bedroom.grin

I think she filmed it herself on a mobile phone

Lathyrus Fri 09-Dec-22 12:11:51

I wonder if that mocking curtesy was one of the things they wanted Netflix to remove.

It would have been recorded before the Queen died. I’m glad she didn’t have to see anything so hurtful.

Lathyrus Fri 09-Dec-22 12:10:03

Umm, the first sentence on Archewell is that it was founded by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

They sign themselves as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

They receive awards as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and donate as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex

I think it’s ironic

Not sure if this has been mentioned already, apologies if so. Some MP wants to bring in a bill to strip them of there titles. Quite agree what have they ever done for Sussex?

It is quite ironic, given their dislike of Royal life to want to go on promoting themselves as The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

I don’t think they are ‘promoting themselves’ as Duke and Duchess of Sussex, at least I have never seen them do so.
I think they have made this programme to try to highlight the treatment of Meghan by the press, and maybe to help in her ‘ Dianafication’, maybe with a view to returning to royal life in the future, who knows? ( And the dosh won’t do any harm either)
Sadly, I think it will have the opposite effect.

I think that if Chelsy had married him he would have had the perfect life in South Africa.
She is a very successful business woman and has an ethical jewels company, and he could have done lots of ‘good work’ in his favourite country.

My friend always used to say that - "For goodness sake, let him marry Chelsy and go off and live quietly and happily ever after in Africa"

Chelsy knew better.

Callistemon21 Fri 09-Dec-22 11:41:18

Even as a young lad Harry it is becoming apparent that he was disturbed by the constant barrage of press lenses directed towards him and his family

So it's curious that there is a cameraman or woman in his bedroom now!

Of course, it will all be carefully orchestrated, rehearsed and unlike real life.

By far the best bit so far Fanny was the film of Harry in Africa (Lethoso?) where he looked so much at home and was desperate to do something good for these people.

FannyCornforth Fri 09-Dec-22 11:25:06

I always wonder if that’s why he hates the press so much, as Chelsy turned him down because she didn’t want the scrutiny and be in the public eye etc

I am a softy at heart and I sincerely hope that the rift between the brothers can be healed sometime in the future. They have shared lived experiences that nobody else witnessed or know about which should be an unbreakable bond.
Exactly this GG13 and this.......
It can hardly be a happy life for M and H, to keep picking at things that allegedly have caused grief. Rosina.

Diana in a clip mentioned how different the two boys were, but of course that doesn't mean they can't be loving as brothers. Ironically she mentioned something about Harry being the quiet one who doesn't say much!

GrannyGravy13 Fri 09-Dec-22 11:10:46

Sorry for my ramblings 🤣👑

GrannyGravy13 Fri 09-Dec-22 11:09:48

Ok, I wasn’t going to comment anymore on The Sussexes but here goes.

I have watched the first episode and what I took from it was that they were/are very much in tune with each other and in love.

Even as a young lad Harry it is becoming apparent that he was disturbed by the constant barrage of press lenses directed towards him and his family.

In my opinion he jointly blames The Firm and The Press for his mother’s death, regardless of the fact that she was not wearing a seatbelt and apparently their chauffeur was drunk.

I think as already posted that he seized the opportunity to leave the confines of the Royal Family along with Meghan.

I also think that whilst the tabloids on both sides of the pond continue to publish and comment on The Sussexes every move comparisons between them and the Prince & Princess of Wales will abound and there will be deep divisions in the family.

I am a softy at heart and I sincerely hope that the rift between the brothers can be healed sometime in the future. They have shared lived experiences that nobody else witnessed or know about which should be an unbreakable bond.

Oh dear, now Harry is blaming himself for Meghan not having a relationship with her father. 'If Meg wasn't with me then her dad would still be her dad'.

Oh dear.
What an odd remark.

He's still her dad even if they are estranged.
