Thursday dresses exactly as my Grandfather did in the 60s. I find him very comforting to look at.

Thursday is exactly that the comforting best Dad figure. Sort of person who would stand by you whatever.

But on the husband side, also a man of his time? I was sort of begging him to "talk to her! say what you FEEL! to Win! when they were badly out of communication.

But remember the episode when the women he utterly fell in love with in Italy in the war re-appeared in Oxford? He was prepared to leave Win for her in a moment of it all flooding back.

(tho he found out in her suicide note that she had in fact betrayed her comrades to the enemy and was not totally the heroine he'd thought. S2 Episode 3)

Only 1 hour in, but already think this final episode will be a tear jerker.

Shall watch the follow up programme ‘’Morse and the last Endeavour’- after the ITV news. Not sure why but think it could be a good watch!

Oh my hankies out all the last half! what a finale........and that change of eyes in the car mirror (predictable but proper)

....but main hankies were out in the last Endeavour/thursday Scene.

Think I need to re watch to take it all in, got a bit lost at times. Really enjoyed this series.
But got it right when I said to DH the other Morse should make an appearance.

What a perfect ending; Faure's Requiem at Blenheim Palace; Morse in his red jaguar and Anton Lesser reciting The Tempest.

Morse and the last Endeavour’ is brilliant, sightly recommended.

Why do I feel so sad? Did they ever find ‘Big Pete’ in subsequent episodes of Morse?

I did enjoy this evening's episode but not a tear here.

No tears here either. We were both glued to the tv though.

Its been so many years of our lives, I think mamaa to develop real attachments. Such and such happened...

Brilliant pairing Morse and Thursday and I did cry ,which is most unlike me .
I was a big fan of John Thaw but I think this has been just as good if not better

I know we are all ageing, but was shocked at how Kevin Whately looked.

I thought this final episode was very well balanced. I was expecting the usual demolished wedding, shooting, heart attack etc that have become so prevalent in modern productions. But, oh, no, as in keeping with the structured model of the time, the ending was solid, satisfying and conclusive. The circle had been rounded. Great scenes, script, acting, camera work and also in depth symbolism which follows traditional literary lines. Loved it.

We were confused towards the end when Morse was sitting on the bench with Thursday’s gun, and it went BANG, but a second later he was singing in the choir.
We knew he would live but wondered what that was about.
It was good tv and the follow up programme was well worth watching.

I do think it rounded everything off, thoroughly enjoyed all of Endeavour, Morse & Lewis.

Yes, I thought "Lewis" didn't look well at all, very thin and a reddened face.

I agree paddyanne its been the best. there have been one or two weird episodes but over all splendid.

I like the way they have always blended in social and political changes in as the years went on.

But why "best? for me?"

I think it's been the blend of characters, and their interrelationships over the years.
