I've just listened to the UK Entry and think it's bright and catchy and just right for Eurovision

Sounded more like one of the Eastern European entries to me.

merlotgran

Sounded more like one of the Eastern European entries to me.

But not last year's Eastern European winner which is still an ear worm.

Sorry, but I think it's dire.
I hope her nails don't flick off halfway through.

It’s never regardless of the song, despite the nonsense that Wogan used to spout.

We mostly sneer at Eurovision, make sure it’s the kiss of death for established artists’ careers, and enter poor songs, sung by either mediocre singers or, a couple of times, singers who are past their best. I still find it amusing that Engelbert insisted on a big key change in his song, and then missed it by a mile on the night.

Sparklefizz

I think it will do well on Eurovision.
I hope she gets rid of those nails, though. Yikes!

Agree. Ghastly nails. No "feeling", dull - but stands a chance in the contest probably.
Doesn't need me to like it!

I like the song and think it might grow on you.

She’s very hyper I m afraid I ve never heard of her
It’s ok …. as others have said very Eurovisiony

A Euro ear worm. Just what you need to win. I liked it. 😁

People seem to like it online. Listen to Finland though - most entertaining.

Dull. The video had slightly more imagination. It's not something I'd ask Google or Alexa to play if I was wanting something to listen to.

I watched the trailer and now all I can think about when I hear it are those nails!

Thanks for posting this.
I wonder how this will be received?
It’ll be a long time before we have a Sam Ryder equivalent, I think…

jane1956 Sat 11-Mar-23 11:54:58

sorry but no matter how good/bad our entry Ukraine will win its already fixed

Wasn't keen the first time I heard it, then liked it, now a bit fed up with hearing it! It could do well but Eurovision voting is flaky and often subject to political vibes.

This song is perfect for Eurovision - simple, catchy with a good dance beat. Eurovision is not the place for high art, catchy generally wins.

lilydily9 Sat 11-Mar-23 15:13:17

It's perfect for Eurovision and will do well in the nightclubs. The younger generation will find it very relatable. Thanks for the link!

Urmstongran Sat 11-Mar-23 15:31:28

It was quite catchy & might do well.

I wasn’t sure when it’s being held (knew it was Liverpool) so I looked it up. I still think it’s wonderful to be able to do just that when we don’t know something!

“The Eurovision spotlight is set to shine on Liverpool as the city hosts the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. The Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will take place in the Liverpool Arena next to the River Mersey on Saturday 13 May with Semi-Finals on Tuesday 9 and Thursday 11 May.”

LuckyFour Sat 11-Mar-23 16:17:56

I think it's awful just like the previous one. Sorry to be so grumpy!!

pen50 Sat 11-Mar-23 16:49:26

The nails got to me, too. Awful!

suelld Sat 11-Mar-23 19:50:12

Song = Fun
Nails = Yikes Nil points

Dixieblue Sun 12-Mar-23 10:37:06

Not my bag but perfect for Eurovision!

Keffie12 Sun 12-Mar-23 12:40:42

It's alright! A song about breakups. Many have done them alot better.

I doubt it will do as well as Sam's. It doesn't do much for me.

It's a very female type Eurovison song though
