Thought it was brilliant.

welbeck Sun 07-May-23 22:02:42

i only just put it on as i don't like pop music generally.
but the light displays are good, and i've just seen kermit the frog bopping along to the beat.

Yes me too.Beautiful lighting and the pianist and singer with the nature section and the Romeo and Juliet my favourites.

welbeck Sun 07-May-23 22:05:34

i came in on mr nesbit ? reciting a poem, which was good.
will probably find it on repeat as i now realise it was more than pop music.

the best bit was the very inclusive choir, for me.

Ziplok Sun 07-May-23 22:10:43

I agree, I thought that it was very good. Impressed with the drone displays, too. 😁

How fantastic was that?

Good old Take That. They know how to close a show!

It was all good. Loved William’s speech and especially Take That!

I watched it with the mute button to hand, in frequent use. Very spectacular, and nice to see George and Charlotte enjoying themselves. What a lot of excitement they’ve had recently.

rafichagran Sun 07-May-23 22:20:38

Take That, Lionel Richie, and Katie Perry were amazing. The whole concert was good and did not go on for too long.

Knittynatter Sun 07-May-23 22:33:10

It was amazing! I even had a boogie around my living room to Take That. It was fabulous to see the Royals enjoying themselves.

Bryn Terfel and Andrea Bocelli! What more could you want? Actually I wish they'd sung the Pearl Fishers duet, but perhaps that would have been a bit heavy for the occasion.

We both enjoyed it, much to our joint surprise didn’t turn to our iPads once.

Excellent evening, Charles is going to be fine.

kittylester Sun 07-May-23 23:24:46

Loved it especially Romeo and Juliet (Well, Somewhere, mostly) Steve Winwood, Bryn Terfel and Take That.

But, especially, William.

Deedaa Sun 07-May-23 23:28:36

Steve Winwood was a real bonus. I didn't know he was going to be on and haven't seen him singing for years.

I don't usually like these concerts. Tonight's was exceptional. I enjoyed every minute of it, as did DH. The highlight for me was the Shakespeare, ballet, West Side Story mash up.

vegansrock Mon 08-May-23 04:59:42

I saw about 20 minutes of it so can’t comment on the whole thing . It was a bit middle of the road music wise, as to be expected. No real big headliners like Elton or Queen, which was disappointing, would have liked to hear more of Lang Lang and Andrea Bocelli, and less of Olly Murs.

Allsorts Mon 08-May-23 05:11:59

Loved all of it, especially Williams speech, the look of gratitude and happiness on Charles face upon hearing it was lovely.

karmalady Mon 08-May-23 06:33:17

I loved the whole concert, every aspect of it, the beautiful light show and the drone `natural world` pictures. Romeo and Juliet and especially Williams speech.

I was hoping for that as well.

Why was Andrea Bocelli call 'Maestro'? I heard it 2 or three times yesterday. Genuine question.

NanaDana Mon 08-May-23 06:59:14

Great to see Steve Winwood. Took me right back to the 60's and to the Spencer Davis Group. "Keep on Running", "Give me some Loving".. a nod to Charles' and Camilla's and to my own generation, although "Higher Love" was an 80's hit, as I recall. A great selection of acts, most of which hit the bullseye, and a fitting round-off to the main celebrations. William stole the show for me, though. Very moving.

nanna8 Mon 08-May-23 07:01:58

Maybe because he is a Maestro ? Just a thought.
