Must admit anything that is hyped up by the media, telling us we should All should be watching and enjoying and having a party🙄 gives it a Big thumbs down from me👎👎 haven't watched it in years, but unfortunately you can't get away from the hype .

dragonfly46 Fri 12-May-23 17:14:36

Yes I will be watching!

Maggiemaybe Fri 12-May-23 17:32:22

Well every year I say I’m not interested, it’s had its day, I won’t be watching, every year I decide to tune in “just for a few minutes, to see how it’s going”, and every year I still seem to be there when the votes are being counted. And I really enjoyed that part last year.

So yes, I guess it’s a yay from me. smile

Nay

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 12-May-23 17:37:41

No way. I haven’t watched since the 70s.

crazyH Fri 12-May-23 17:39:37

Yay from me

Aveline Fri 12-May-23 17:49:37

Big nay from me. BBC isn't half hammering it though. Switched off Radio 2 this morning because of it.

Whitewavemark2 Fri 12-May-23 17:50:53

No - not my thing

Nay, our entry says she hates Britain, you couldn't make it up could you.

And that's after her grandfather, a German Jew, was welcomed into Britain during World War 2.

SueDonim Fri 12-May-23 17:57:57

Nay. I haven’t seen it for years, apart from the rare occasion when I think I should check it out. Once confronted with all the screaming and dramatics, it quickly gets switched off again until the memory has faded enough to make me look again. I think I’m next due to take a peek in 2027. 😂

Salti Fri 12-May-23 18:02:53

A definite Nay from me. Puppet on a string was for me the last memorable winner. Now it seems to have it's own agenda.

Aveline Fri 12-May-23 18:04:53

Can't believe the BBC news is based on the Eurovision site and is the main news item. I think they've lost their sense of proportion.

I can believe it sadly. They never had a sense of proportion.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 12-May-23 18:12:35

Really Bizziebe? How ungracious.

You and me both Aveline. I will be glad when it’s over.

Georgesgran Fri 12-May-23 18:13:14

It’s a nay from me!

Cherrytree59 Fri 12-May-23 18:20:56

Well done Liverpool for hosting.đŸŽ¶
I know some people who are going and I hope they have a fab time.

Don't ususlly watch ( last time was when Wogan was commentator) .

But my grandsons were allowed to watch for first time last year and today at school pick up were talking about the Banana wolf song.
So will probably take a look (a yey then)
They will be most likely be chatting on WhatsApp .

Not sure I will be able to endure the voting though ( a nay )
Quite happy to find out winner on Sunday .

Kandinsky Fri 12-May-23 18:27:51

I used to enjoy it years ago but it’s now just a big party for the LGBT community. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but I feel a bit disconnected now.
I’ll watch it though.

fancythat Fri 12-May-23 18:34:43

Yay
I go through fits and starts with it.
Currently in a yay phase.
Didnt watch it around 2000 or whenever when Uk won with Katrina and the Waves.
Didnt think she stood a chance anyway. Shows what I know!

I think they have.

DM[not really the place to discuss that here] seem to have lost their way as regards headlines at least, as well.
Syria seems to have been a flash in the pan.

You and me both Aveline. I will be glad when it’s over.

It's worse than that GSM. She will soon have a German passport thanks to Germany’s process of giving citizenship to descendants of Nazi persecution, and then apparently she is going to live in Spain.
OK fair enough, her choice, but why publicly slag off the country which has given you the opportunity to get where you have?

NanaDana Fri 12-May-23 18:39:00

Haven't watched it for decades. In fact I think that the last time I did we had a black and white telly! Just not my cup of tea at all.

Caramme Fri 12-May-23 18:51:57

I don’t like it at all. Awful music. Just a sham show. The rest of my family love it and are off to Liverpool tomorrow - we are in Cheshire so not that far away - to enjoy the daytime offerings, then my son and his family are hosting their customary Eurovision party in the evening. It is my idea of torture so I will remain at home and listen to my audio book. Bah humbug and all that.

BlueBelle Fri 12-May-23 19:00:41

Crickey I ll be so glad when it’s over, every news item is about Eurovision yawn yawn yawn

TwiceAsNice Fri 12-May-23 19:36:35

Definitely Nay! I can’t stand it and can’t understand why it’s so newsworthy . Get a life!

sodapop Fri 12-May-23 19:46:13

I watched when Terry Wogan was there but not since. The music and hype are not for me. I do think though that a lot of people are enjoying it and it's good for Liverpool, each to their own.

It's an awful song anyway.

Actually, we might watch the programme "Every One's a Winner" because the losing songs are often the winners!
