Evelyn played a blinder tonight
I was thinking the same about the Turkey teeth Kate she did well to get them done while living on the street they didn’t choose her very well they thought we wouldn’t notice hahaha 😬

Kate1949 Wed 28-Jun-23 21:23:09

It happens a lot on TV now. Someone who is dirty, down and out and scruffy has celebrity teeth grin

Doodledog Wed 28-Jun-23 22:56:57

The daughter is Claire Sweeney, I think. She used to be Lindsey Corkhill in Brookside.

Kate1949 Wed 28-Jun-23 23:04:22

Yes it's Claire Sweeney.

When did Yasmeen become a magnet for all these men?

She has morphed from being the abandoned wife of her philandering first husband, to the coerced clutches of the villainous Geoff. She appears to be happy enough with Stu, (previous ex naval chef, victim of unjust murder charge, detained wrongly for years at HM’s pleasure, homeless, but taken in by Yas and family), and now seems to be seen frequently in the company of Roy Cropper, much to Evelyn’s displeasure, pursuing joint cultural interests.

A real femme fatale.

Charleygirl5 Thu 29-Jun-23 12:50:36

Sarah said she would have an abortion if it is Damon's baby, which of course it will be. I cannot see her and Adam staying together much longer because he will never forget what she did.

Will Dee Dee be sharing a bed with Adam next?

I agree, the teeth were rather a giveaway for a supposed drug addict.

I find Yasmeen really irritating. She is a hopeless actress and despite her 'interesting' life she has no real personality. We don't know what she thinks about anything, her likes and dislikes or much at all, really. She hasn't developed as a character at all, although she has been around for ages. The same is true of Alya too, I think.

I think you might be right about Dee Dee and Adam, Charleygirl. She needs a love interest, and they would have a lot more in common than Adam and Sarah. As Dee Dee is a lawyer, he could leave, though. There is usually only one representative of any profession on the street at a time (apart from people working in catering, that is grin).

Who runs the Bookie's now? Is it Peter?

Charleygirl5 Thu 29-Jun-23 13:16:04

I just do not understand why Dee Dee is there if she is not going to hop into bed with Adam.

Is the bookies still there? I thought it was now Tracey's flower shop. The flats above the shops - who lives where? (You can see I'm not too busy this afternoon!)

BlueBelle Fri 30-Jun-23 13:30:18

I rather like DeeDee and hope she doesn’t land with Adam I think she’s too sensible for that to be truthful
I agree with others Yazmeen is a dreadful actor and such a weak character Is she fed up with Stu ? Even if Roy isn’t a love interest she seems to be out and about without Stu rather a lot

sodapop Fri 30-Jun-23 16:45:00

I like Dee Dee as well but she doesn't seem to do a great deal of work for a high profile lawyer.
Yasmeen's best scenes were with Geoff I thought, she seems to be a bit of a wet week nowadays.
I think Gemma is going to crumble under the stress of five children and Paul's illness, who could blame her.

Doodledog Fri 30-Jun-23 17:19:26

I don't know if the bookies' became the flower shop. You don't usually see the outside of anywhere to get an idea of the geography. Maybe online betting did for it. What does Peter do for work now though?

lemsip Fri 30-Jun-23 20:25:32

oh dear, stephen's at it again I think

vegansrock Fri 30-Jun-23 21:04:41

They must have written Maureen Lipman out for a while to do her West End show.

vegansrock Fri 30-Jun-23 21:12:54

What’s happened to Brian’s Italian cousin?

Primrose53 Fri 30-Jun-23 21:20:25

Probably went upstairs for something.

Charleygirl5 Fri 30-Jun-23 22:57:55

veganstock I would pay for a single air ticket to take her back to Italy with the proviso she never enters British soil again. I cannot stand her.

Calendargirl Sat 01-Jul-23 07:19:55

Peter drives a taxi doesn’t he?

Well, when he isn’t off on a boating holiday or similar with his mates.

Doodledog Sat 01-Jul-23 08:31:47

Ah yes, so he does. It’s odd - few of them have lifestyles that match their likely earnings. Either they’d be earning very little but have fancy flats and eat out all the time, or they’d earn well but live with parents in overcrowded houses.

vegansrock Tue 04-Jul-23 06:10:15

Stephen’s got away with it ( again!) Could Sarah’s skirts get shorter? Looks like Paul could come to an early sticky end. The chilli eating contest was not particularly funny - can’t imagine anyone paying to see such an event - why just give him cash in an envelope?

BlueBelle Tue 04-Jul-23 07:12:16

Well they do have chilli. Eating completions in real life vegan but I doubt they d be eating those so easily I guess it’s not exactly exhilarating TV to give him money in an envelope 😂
I m afraid I just can’t get my head around yazmeen in a love scene they really have got the wrong one playing Steve’s girlfriend

maddyone Tue 04-Jul-23 07:52:34

What’s Stephen got away with? Has he done poor Elaine in? Do tell, I’m in Greece and not watching till we get back, but reading here to keep up.

Aveline Tue 04-Jul-23 08:28:00

He's got that wet guy to refuse to buy the business so he gets to keep his job. Also he got his ex wife to pretend to be the 'consultant' that Underworld has been making payments to.

Charleygirl5 Tue 04-Jul-23 08:30:47

Stephen cannot get rid of Elaine until he marries her because she will not lend him the money to buy the factory. Only when they are married he will be able to kill her and then in theory everything should be his.

Daisy is another with very short skirts.

Ilovecheese Tue 04-Jul-23 12:59:07

Yasmeen seems to have a talent for hooking up with unpleasant men, Stu is a bit too sulky for my liking.
