Stephen swopped Elaine's BP tablets for caffeine ones. Not sure if that will be evident in blood tests. Owen is examining the Underworld accounts so may turn up some anomalies before Elaine is killed off.

At this rate they’ll be dragging on the Stephen storyline till the Christmas episodes. In the meantime the car roof box containing the body has unbelievably remained undetected in the canal.

I did think he was very remiss pouring all those BP tablets down the sink. I would have kept them safe and put them back in the bottle after Elaine’s demise in case anyone thought to check.

I’d obviously make a better serial killer than Stephen. And to be fair I think I’d have been tempted to off drippy Elaine as well if I was facing the prospect of a lifetime with her in that awful flat wearing those Lord and Lady slippers.

Stephen is probably kicking himself that Elaine’s phone was within her reach.

The slippers were a brilliant touch.

BlueBelle you could be right, maybe the hospital won’t do full bloods, although I tend to think that since they don’t know what made Elaine keel over, surely they would have done full bloods.

Does caffeine really make you dizzy and keel over? I thought caffeine makes you super alert. Students used to use caffeine tablets to keep them awake at night so they could study before exams.
I thought Stephen used illegal drugs from a dealer to poison Carla.

He did. He used LSD on Carla.

I really hope you're wrong about this going on until Christmas, Maggie. I'll have lost the will to live if Stephen is still murdering folk by then.

I think the contracts must renew in October - there is often a cull about then - so either he'll have a 'spree' and the body count will rise again, or it might see him off.

I think it’s an interesting idea for Max to have a black girlfriend. Shows how mixed up he is. Her previous boyfriend won’t be best pleased that he’s pinched his gf(even though he hasn’t)and she won’t be happy to hear he was inside for far right terrorism.

I agree Maggiemaybe the flat and the slippers were dreadful. Jenny must be so much more attractive to him.

I liked the flat. Loved that coral coloured oriental wallpaper. The view wasn't great though - just a brick wall. It must be some sort of trendy warehouse conversion like Sarah and Adams.

Certainly ready for the end of the Amy/Aaron saga.

When did it happen? Surely over a month ago? Am sure the CCTV would have been wiped long ago.

Now that he's admitted it, maybe they will both let it drop and save on the court fees?

I hope Tim sees off Stephen soon.

Also - am I right in thinking that Rita is going back to work in the Kabin? She must be too old for that, surely? No offence to our older members, some of whom I know are very fit and able, but getting up at 5 to 'do the papers' and being on her feet all day seems like cruelty - she must be about 90 surely?

I've just checked, and apparently she was born in 1932, which would make her 91.

I think Elaine's flat is so depressing, grey, dark and I hate the wallpaper.
I could hardly concentrate on tonight's story, wondering why she bought it and what I'd have to do to make it look good 😉
I really hope that this is the end of the Amy story, she had quite the transformation tonight, from being traumatised, to taking control

That spiral staircase in their flat looks ominous. I wonder if it’s there for someone to have a nasty tumble .

I think that spiral staircases in general are scary things, and this one in particular has the look of a crime scene in waiting .

I feel a bit sorry for Damon too. The actor who plays him is very convincing.

I like dopey Tim. He has a lot to put up with between Sally and his mum, and he’s a decent chap. I hope he isn’t killed off by Sinister Stephen.

Surely he's too popular to kill off. The other victims have been fairly minor characters.

It just needed Elaine to say “Well, if that was today’s bread, it was a bit dry!” to set the cat among the pigeons. Wouldn’t the bread have had a date on it? But then, according to Stephen, it hadn’t been baked in-house, it had been delivered. Tim should probably go into Roy’s and check out his coffee story. But then as he is in there so often, who would remember?

You’ve got to hand it to Stephen, he can certainly think on his feet, coming up with all these (plausible) excuses time after time.

So Aaron has roared off in dad’s car, not a taxi. His dad has turned his life around, from being a hopeless, dying alcoholic who beat up his son, (twice his size) to a stroppy father determined to avenge his boy.

Did anyone ever pay back the money that was required to get him into the private clinic that enabled the turnaround to his life?

Good point. Thank goodness for the representatives of law and order on the cobbles, eh? Where would we be without Craigie, Adam and DeeDee?
