Roll up, roll up!

The old one is full, so post your Corrie thoughts and observations here.

Doodledog Fri 09-Jun-23 20:19:46

That sounds like fun, Maggie.

Why can't they get children with the same accents as their parents? I've said it before, but all of Gail's children have different accents (and none of them are the same as hers) and now Harry is continuing the tradition.

Mmm things don’t look good for Elaine 😱

lemsip Sat 10-Jun-23 14:09:49

good to see sarah affair come to light and the fallout. good that adam left her.

BlueBelle Sat 10-Jun-23 14:38:36

Poor Harry I know he’s only little but he’s awful at acting some kids are naturals even at that age but Harry’s not
Yes Damon has rather grown on me too and I think he’s grown on Sarah he’s turned out quite sweet
I so liked it without Steven I do hope his story line soon comes to a halt and he disappears I spent ages trying to think who the factory buyer was ??was he in casualty or holby

Aveline Sat 10-Jun-23 14:47:31

Harry seemed a bit odd to me. How old is he supposed to be?

Calendargirl Sat 10-Jun-23 18:37:58

Harry’s acting was awful (and yes, I realise he’s only little).

I think the Bailey family have upped their game, acting wise. Not as wooden as they used to be.

I think Damon is really smitten with Sarah, goodness knows why. Must be the killer heels.

Where is Damon living, by the way?

Aveline Sat 10-Jun-23 18:49:08

I wondered if Harry's speech was dubbed or even that he is much older than the age he's supposed to be.

Maggiemaybe Sun 11-Jun-23 10:20:45

Harry is still played by identical twins. I do hope they grow into their roles - there’s time yet, as they’re still very young.

We haven’t seen much of Sam lately, but what a cracking little actor Jude Riordan is.

elaine is on the way out then, wicked stephen

Calendargirl Wed 14-Jun-23 20:12:19

Is it just me thinks Elaine’s new flat is awful? It looks really dark, cluttered and old fashioned.

Calendargirl Wed 14-Jun-23 20:44:25

What tablets did Stephen drug Eileen with? Surely the hospital will do blood tests and find them in her system?

And he left the bread on the side, proving that he had already been back to the flat earlier.

Doodledog Wed 14-Jun-23 20:48:00

I would hate the spiral staircase. Where is the flat meant to be? It's good that they have new sets, I think.

Now that Covid's over, it would be good if they had more of the cast in at the same time. That is why the old episodes were better, I think. These days they only ever seem to have half a dozen people in for a while, then another shift takes over for a few weeks. It was the interaction between the different characters that made the old Corrie more enjoyable, and we are losing that now.

(and let's hope they do a blood test at the hospital and discover the cause of Elaine's 'funny turn'.)

Primrose53 Wed 14-Jun-23 21:05:02

Have been away for a few days. How did Sarah get caught out?

Charleygirl5 Wed 14-Jun-23 22:10:11

I do not think the hospital will take any blood tests and Elaine will go home tomorrow but luckily her son whose name escapes me is suspicious so with luck, he will catch Stephen out.

I thought Elaine's flat would have been more modern.

Grannynannywanny Wed 14-Jun-23 22:16:59

Primrose53

Have been away for a few days. How did Sarah get caught out?

Damon and Sarah had an afternoon meet up at the flat. Little Harry was home sick from nursery and was supposed to be in his bedroom having a nap but he saw Sarah and Damon kissing. He spilled the beans to Adam.

MrsNemo Wed 14-Jun-23 22:22:10

Calendargirl yes - the bread will be Stephen's undoing - he told Tim why he was out of the flat and what he had bought.
Tim handled the bread when they both went back to get some items for Elaine. Tim will remember that. Perhaps Elaine and Tim will be bumped off together and Stephen will make it look like a suicide pact.

JenniferEccles Wed 14-Jun-23 22:53:13

I also thought the bread would be significant as the camera seemed to linger on it for a few seconds.
Poor Elaine!

Clawdy Wed 14-Jun-23 22:59:20

I'm assuming Max's mate will leave prison eventually and get revenge on Max for stealing his girlfriend!

maddyone Wed 14-Jun-23 23:54:19

I’m another who thinks the bread wil be significant, also apparently, the direction from which Stephen arrived when the ambulance was collecting Elaine. I think it was the wrong direction from the shop where he bought the bread.
Blood tests- the first thing any hospital does with a new patient is invariably the ‘bloods.’
I had already wondered why the ‘bloods’ didn’t appear to be done at any stage when Carla was ill, and being poisoned by Stephen. Now the same thing seems to be happening with Elaine.

Memo to the Corrie writers - hospitals do blood tests!

BlueBelle Thu 15-Jun-23 04:08:10

But surely the hospital only sees what it’s asking for in a blood test it doesn’t automatically show toxins unless they are suspicious and ask them to test for them Maddy in an old lady with no suspicious circumstances they won’t automatically be testing for toxins

I so hope this it is the start of Stevens downfall I m so fed up with these far fetched deaths I noticed Cara looked a bit suspicious when she heard about Eileen Are they all getting on to him at last ?

Calendargirl Thu 15-Jun-23 06:39:13

I don’t think Elaine will like being classed as an ‘old lady’ BlueBelle. grin

I am fed up with ordinary working folk in Corrie always making arrangements to meet for lunch in the Bistro or Rovers, then having to cancel because they are so bogged down with work, e.g. Sarah and Adam.

Why don’t they just make a sandwich at home before setting off, enabling them to get on with all their vital work at work, leave at a reasonable time and cook a meal when they get home?

They all seem to breakfast at Roy’s, lunch at the Rovers, then dinner at Speed Dahl or the Bistro. Not forgetting coffees out, although they all seem to be ‘making a brew’ the minute they get through the door at home.

Doodledog Thu 15-Jun-23 06:56:23

I think that’s because people used to complain at all the drinking in the Rovers all day😀. The characters have to meet somewhere for plots to move on, so they now eat out instead. In the ‘olden dats’ it was equally unrealistic that people like Emily would go to the pub on her own to drink sweet sherry every lunchtime, whilst the factory ‘girls’ knocked back pints before going back to work.

If the neighbours never saw one another there would be no storylines at all.

BlueBelle Thu 15-Jun-23 07:10:25

Calandergirl Elaine is the mother to a 50 year old man and a great grandmother so she is an old lady I think her character is suppose to be early 70 s

Clawdy Thu 15-Jun-23 07:29:22

And I did think she looked older last night, not sure why.

Franbern Thu 15-Jun-23 08:41:46

I am still waiting to hear on here that Stephen has been banged up for all his murders, so that I can go back to watching Corrie.

I thought that the main reason for only a few characters in episode was due to money. THought if they actually appeared and had script to speak they got paid far more than those episodes where their characters did not appear.
