Series two of this programme is being advertised on BBC as coming soon. I thought I would need to rewatch series one to remind myself of the story. I am currently doing this and I had forgotten how brilliant it was, Sean Bean and Lesley Manville are outstanding.

Oh, is it coming back? I’d given up hope!

Granmarderby10 Mon 03-Jul-23 00:21:18

Oh brilliant Jane43 look forward to it 🤗

Jane43 Mon 03-Jul-23 05:01:17

Apparently series two is starting on Sunday July 16th.

Calendargirl Mon 03-Jul-23 06:38:46

Will Lesley Manville get her wicked way with lovely, lonely Sean?

We can but hope.

Calendargirl Mon 10-Jul-23 06:44:35

I have a horrible feeling Sean Bean isn’t going to be in series 2.

His name seemed to be missing when I checked out who had signed up for this new series.

Hope I somehow misread it,

sad

Nooooo! 😱 Tell me it’s not true, Calendargirl!

Jane43 Mon 10-Jul-23 22:19:09

I think you could be right Calendargirl. All that chemistry with Robina may come to nothing.

MayBee70 Mon 10-Jul-23 22:23:43

I missed this first time round. I need something to watch on catchup.

Jane43 Mon 10-Jul-23 22:29:25

I recommend series one then, it is excellent.

Grammaretto Mon 10-Jul-23 22:33:12

He is in series two.

Grammaretto Mon 10-Jul-23 22:36:08

I watched an interview with Julia Brown who plays Lois.

Grannmarie Mon 10-Jul-23 22:36:20

I thoroughly enjoyed rewatching Season 1, looking forward to Season 2 now.

merlotgran Mon 10-Jul-23 23:10:24

I’m watching series 1 again. I’m rubbish at remembering what happened especially after four years.

Yes I did that and have just finished series one. I remembered most of the story but had completely forgotten the cliffhanger ending.

Calendargirl Tue 11-Jul-23 06:29:23

Grammaretto

He is in series two.

I think you’ll find he’s not.

According to a Radio Times report I’ve read

Calendargirl Sun 16-Jul-23 07:19:46

Apparently, Mark Bonnar is going to be in series 2, a love interest for Lesley Manville.

Let’s hope he’s a good substitute for Sean.

Grannmarie Sun 16-Jul-23 09:00:15

Oh, good, I like Mark Bonnar.

Grannmarie Sun 16-Jul-23 20:34:06

Not long now, 9pm BBC 1. Looking forward to it, glad I had time to rewatch Season one cos I'd forgotten a lot.

merlotgran Sun 16-Jul-23 20:58:50

I’m glad I’ve just binge watched the first series as I’d forgotten quite a lot of it.

Looking forward this.

Grannmarie Sun 16-Jul-23 22:05:52

Well I didn't expect that in episode one!

dogsmother Sun 16-Jul-23 22:10:30

Didn’t see series one but thoroughly enjoyed that!

merlotgran Sun 16-Jul-23 22:17:32

Jan has grown up by at least two years but the baby is only a few months older. 😂

Clawdy Tue 18-Jul-23 08:13:07

Enjoying this, but missing the Sean Bean character. Doesn't look as if Helen Hunt is back, either.

vegansrock Sat 22-Jul-23 22:11:57

Have now watched the first 4 episodes, and am not enjoying it as much as season 1. It’s become just a bit of a soap opera, fitting from scene to scene - one minute they are in England, the next the desert, then France , then Germany. So many improbable scenarios, wobbly CGI sets and airfix model planes. I think the Germans had more than 1 tank in the desert. Still we’ve had a good laugh at some of it.
